The main running theme with these displays is that they're placed as if want to be found. As a warning, or a promise. Saying that, some may be placed in noteworthy places, per se. Quiet places, a clearing deep in the woods. Near dead trees. Some may have had the snow dug away to the ground and the remains have been placed there, closer to the earth.
