Raju would be curious enough to help him leave messages, once he hears Jim's going to be doing it! (Also, re your hunting pals thing, if you ever want him to learn with a character who's also not going to love doing it, I've been having Raju avoiding learning to hunt for a while, so maybe at some point they could be varying degrees of grossed out by it together.)
