the thing about Lanfear is she likes to use that sort of doe-eyed submissiveness to get what she really wants out of someone, so she WOULD submit if it meant she'd end up either making herself more invaluable to him or learning something more about him in the process.

the funny part with regard to the Darkwalker is that right now, she's just convinced it might be another form of her own boss from home, but she needs to have the rude awakening that a) it isn't and b) she's more helpless here than she knows! which would be a good revelation for her to have, and then force her to rethink the necessity of strengthening her other allegiances
