You know who else grew up in the slums???? This guy! If Vasiliy learned of that he'd definitely be very interested in getting to know Levi more because he'd be the first person he's met who's truly grown up in an adjacent situation to his own - he's met people who grew up in poor urban areas, certainly, but never bona fide industrial slums with tenements before.
