Beth | Thomas Richardson

Player Name: Beth
Player Contact: Discord or Plurk at [plurk.com profile] terriblepurpose on both.
Pacing: I aim to tag my threads once a day, sometimes slightly slower or faster.
OOC Limits: I'd like to keep him alive for at least one month (unless it's really, really entertaining not to), and otherwise my permissions and opt out are here.

Character Name: Thomas Richardson
Canon: Apostle (2018)

Wanted CR: I'd like to have him meet a person who knows how antibiotics work so he can have some of those. Beyond that, would love to keep developing his TDM acquaintances: tentative allies, early friction, and more. He's a difficult person, generally speaking, but thanks to survival pressures is at least attempting to be civil. Civil-ish. Civil for certain allowances of the word civil.
Unwanted CR: None!

Event Ideas:

General Thomas is, medically speaking, 'mangled to fuck'. With the power of jamjar magic, the deepest parts of the injuries he received from being stabbed are closed up and his insides are in the process of healing, but his hand is still just as mangled as it started, he's picked up an infection in his side wounds (maybe from being dunked in a lake, who knows?), he has mild frostbite from his trek into town, and he's in withdrawal from opiate use. He can survive, but he's going to need help, which he will not love. Preventing him from dying will mostly involve treating his infected wounds, keeping him fed, and making him rest.

The Aurora Thomas took over a dead man's house and stuck his body in a shed out back. He'll be witnessing the events of this man's death (a quiet suicide) in his feverish deliriums. Not necessarily something that will get threaded out unless someone wants to do a 'caretaking Thomas in his house' thread, but it'll be referenced throughout the month as he thinks about that.

The Hour of the Wolf This man cannot fight wolves right now. He should not be allowed to try. What he can do is offer a refuge in his stolen house, or hole up with other characters elsewhere as they wait out the pack or strategize escape. He's good at staying relatively functional under pressure, while also being willing to do very stupidly dangerous things at the drop of a hat - so if you need a distraction, you can have one. Maybe he'll still manage to get lightly mauled after all!

It Speaks Thomas will be convinced he's largely immune to the voice until he isn't. He's grappled with the question of refusing to go on before, but has clung to life out of motives that are partially obscure even to him. If death wants him so badly, it's free to come and take him - and he knows he has no place in the world as it is.

This will last until the voice begins to suggest that there's a way for him to find a place he does belong. All he has to do is go out into the wilds and lie down on the earth so it can take him back.

I'm up for him to provide the worst pep talks in the world to people he comes across on the verge of succumbing to the voice, and interested in threading out someone coaxing him out of the dirt. I think the 'out of the dirt' one would be a great chance for someone to get some info on some of the buckwild canon times Thomas had right before showing up in Milton.
