"Jumpy," Zane comments lightly, but he doesn't seem put off at all. It's hardly an insult--it's a surprisingly gentle observation, not taking the offense whatsoever but finding the fluster entirely too charming.
He doesn't step back so much as he turns towards a nearby table to give the stranger more room without it looking entirely too obvious, perfectly content to pick up a cup of coffee. Is it someone else's? He's not sure. But it's warm, and there's no one around, so he'll happily pick it up and hold it in between his hands.
"So. Not part of nature's design either, are you?" His voice is soft and surprisingly commanding without trying very hard. American, mostly, with a slight Nordic undertone. "Can't be too bad if there's so much company here, look at this place!"
