Character Name: Levi Ackerman

Relevance: It's most commonly associated with Levi's late commander and close friend Erwin (his other close friend, Hange, later wears one and also dies, but he doesn't know that yet at his canonpoint). Erwin's death is something that still haunts Levi because he was, if indirectly, the cause of it; he was forced to witness the destruction of their almost entire regiment and then faced with the choice to save only one of his subordinates. Despite the obvious choice of Erwin's leadership skills and experience, Levi lets him go, instead saving a young soldier as he believes that is what he would have wanted, finally being free of the enormous guilt he carried and getting to die a hero. However while he claims he doesn't regret that choice, he's shown to still be thinking about it and monologuing at Erwin in his head years later. TL;DR: PAIN
