The latter? Spencer tries to burn Louis's house down with Louis in it, but Louis escapes and kills him. The house will probably still burn though. Louis may toss the mortally wounded Spencer into the fire. I'm not sure if Louis will know Spencer was a secret Forest Talker at the time, as this takes place before the all-out attack.
