"Yeah. That," Max says with certainty. That was something she recognized all too well. There was a time she just kept putting one foot in front of the other and ignored everything she couldn't cope with until she was numb. She doesn't want to do that exact same thing again, but this didn't turn out too bad.
"And be grateful we can walk away."
"I haven't been here very long, either." Max looks around the snow before them and gives a soft, quick outward huff that might have been a morbid chuckle. "My home's really different, too. The cabins are kind of nice, though. Missing electricity."
