Max might resort to sarcasm more than she needs. Who needs a filter when you can just express trauma through angry words? She can't imagine Ruby like that. She seems genuinely nice.

Ruby does get a laugh out of her. "Okay. We can throw snowballs at each other to break it up, then," she offers.

"This," Max stops to look at the place around them, at least Hawkins she at least knew what state and country she was in, "is the first time I've ever really felt stranded." She swallows, and gives the white blanket of snow on everything a firm look.

"This time, I might just be stuck. Not surprised." She tells herself getting hopeful about it probably isn't a great idea. Making the most of it, though....

She gives Ruby a weak smile. "But, so far the company seems nice."
