Shoving trauma down and trying to ignore it is something Max could relate to. She would still tell Ruby that's not healthy, of course.

"I think you have that backwards. You're so going down," Max teases back. Of course, she's not actually played in much snow, but she's ready. How hard can a snowball fight be?

"You're right. Getting stuck with good people is better than being stuck with serial killers." Max can respect a more realistic view of this situation, rather than having optimism shoved at her.

Max nods her head, though for a moment she feels that sinking feeling. She left everyone, though. What happens to them? She hadn't even had a chance to think of that.

"What do you think happens to everyone back home?"
