Welcome to Singillatim!
Glad you could be here! We hope you have a great time here in the Quiet Apocalypse. Don't lose too many fingers, this weather bites. early thirtysomethings from catholic backgrounds 🤝🤝🤝

would love for these two kids to meet!! freddie grew up catholic, became an atheist age 7 when his parents got divorced, and spent the rest of his life pretending to be catholic in their presence, so he's got some resentment and baggage that would probably come out sooner or later around a believer! by the same token, though, i think he is able to relate more easily to other characters from catholic backgrounds, and he does self-identify specifically as ethnically (half) irish catholic and sort of recognizes that he is culturally catholic whether he wants to be or not.

he's also totally blind to the huge impact his catholic upbringing had on his current body image issues/internalization of fatphobia/intense moralization of food and weight/reaction to getting the purple heart, so i think it could be super interesting for him to sort of witness somebody else's catholic guilt from a more objective standpoint and possibly start to notice faint traces of similar behavior in himself!

also i'm canonblind-ish but as i understand it?? matt is flirty and if freddie clocks that i think he would definitely make an attention-seeking pass at him if that's something you'd be interested in playing out!

hello! yeah, all of this sounds like it could be a good foundation for some interesting cr. matt doesn't really keep it a secret that he's catholic (as seen above in the gifs lmao) or that he's had his own struggles with god and faith over the years, so i'm sure it'll come up eventually or will make itself known sooner than later.

and yeah! matt does have a charming, flirtatious side if he catches a vibe with someone, so we could absolutely play that out too ehehehe
