hi!! huali here, shaking off the cobwebs of my sort-of-rp-sabbatical to jump back into the fray (thanks to an enabler some mild, friendly persuasion) with this dumb eldritch. and i’m going to stress this: wisdom doesn’t necessarily come with time.

so here’s dream! of the endless. also known as morpheus and a bunch of other names that only get more pretentious from there. he's the anthropomorphic personification of dreams and essentially rules over the entire dreaming world (aptly called “the dreaming”). his job is to pretty much craft dreams and nightmares so that you can find peace and joy in your sleep and also confront your fears. you can absolutely blame those nocturnal terrors on him. also, i’m terrible at introductions and he’s not easy to decipher, but here, in a nutshell: he’s an idiot. sullen, holding back a tsunami of emotions at all times, stubborn, solitary and lonely despite wishing otherwise and refusing to admit it, harsh, and with a superiority complex that won’t do well around here. he’s a bit a brooding poet at heart, too — imagine a guy who could mope artfully through eternity. that’s him. he’s like that one artist friend who’ll show up at a party dressed for a funeral and spend the night contemplating the symbolic meanings of cocktail umbrellas. and he has more sibling issues than you can shake a stick at. his info post is right here! just. without all the powers. a child could basically beat him up and win in this world, probably.

i’m excited to explore the many possibilities this game has to offer for him!! he’s going to be super overwhelmed for a while but it’s going to be fun to watch him realize that he can finally allow himself to feel the things he feels and maybe find his own purpose. i’m looking forward to all types of CR and i can’t wait to thread with all of you!! also let me apologize in advance for my slow ass at times. full disclosure: i’m audhd and it can definitely get in the way. don’t hesitate to poke me if i’m taking too long, or if you’d like to discuss anything really!

raising my hand for the absolutely ESSENTIAL Lanfear & Dream CR eventually as two ancient AF people who are distinctly lacking all their powers, but I also have Snow White from The Wolf Among Us, which is a game set before the events of the Fables comics, so there's the potential for some very different dynamics there!

PLEASE. i desperately need to rewatch the second season because what is memory but i remember liking lanfear so much. im super curious to see where interactions could lead them, especially without powers!! she could probably break him in a fight, effortlessly lmao. also! im canon blind re: snow but throw her at him regardless! we embrace all characters in this house.

yes! right now she's masquerading as Selene, the innkeeper she was pretending to be at the start of Season 2, so no one's uncovered the truth about Lanfear yet, but it'll be interesting to see how their interactions while she's sort of wearing this facade!

and Snow is a more Type-A personality who's just become the deputy mayor back home, so she's used to being somewhat bossy but she'd be fascinated to meet someone like Dream, since she's somewhat of an entity herself as a fairytale

so i've just watched some scenes from the second season again and i absolutely did not remember that she's basically a dream weaver. just!! oh my god. this could potentially be something we could play around with (maybe he's seen her before?? in the dreaming?? idk) but either way, i'm excited for them to meet! dream will also definitely be interested in a literal fairytale, who is he to rebuff a good story!

yes! her main power is being able to manipulate the realm of dreams (which she obviously can’t do here, much to her chagrin), BUT who’s to say dream has never heard of tel’aran’rhiod in some form or fashion, let alone what lanfear has been up to in it? 👀👀👀

Hello Huali, welcome to the game! I'm Jhey, and I have two Horror Guys here: Edward Little from The Terror (a sad soggy Victorian naval officer who tries his best) and Konstantin Veshnyakov from the movie Sputnik (a friendly, charming cosmonaut from the 80's who also happens to be infested with an alien parasite... fun times...) I'm canonblind, but Dream seems like he'll be a delightful spooky addition to the town, and I'm looking forward to doing things with him!

thank you jhey, a pleasure to meet you! im also canon blind but ive heard super good things about the terror, which means i should probably remedy that. tbf he does look sad and soggy so he'll probably get along with dream just fine lmao. i also don't know konstantin but he knows a constantine?? is he still alien-infested omg?

His muttonchops are full of woe.... just two sad guys vibing :'D And the alien is here with Konstantin, with some nerf setting factors in place!! So that's always a fun little thing to play around with, and I think there's some interesting potential for the fact Konstantin is extremely curious about other Supernatural Spooky Things out there as he tries to learn more about his creepy unwanted guest.... so Dream would be someone that would pique his curiosity for sure!

oooooh!! dream is absolutely your guy for all things spooky (his janitor is a dude with a pumpkin for a head and i'm super convinced dream is a hardcore halloween fan). also, his sister is literally death so like. yeah. bring the woe and the alien vibes to meeee!

Hey there Huali, welcome and glad to see you here! I'm Kris, playing the Doctor here from Doctor Who. I super wanted to tag your TDM prompt but didn't want to overload you with threads too much, so I'm looking forward to tossing these two at each other first chance we get! Forgive me if you're already canon familiar with the Doctor, but this version of him is jokingly referred to as 'Baby is also eldritch figure from dawn of time' - he's very old (1,000+ years), very lonely and sad inside, definitely an idiot, but in contrast to Dream, he's extremely bright, bubbly, cheerful on the outside LOL so no idea how they'll get on. He's also been struggling with all the abilities/powers he's lost too so yes here for however they end up getting on!

okay listen. and you're fully allowed to judge me but i've never actually... watched... doctor who sob. i know!! who hasn't in this day and age and i'm ashamed to admit it because it looks like something i'd be super interested in but!! from what i gather here he's basically the yang to dream's yin lmao, perfect. i'm really looking forward to threading with you as well! it's a pleasure to meet you, thank you for the warm welcome!
