OOC Limits: no animal abuse written in excruciating length, hunting as needed for survival and upkeep of meat/skinning is just fine but no generalized suffering or abuse for the sake of of the macabre. not into noncon or dubcon either, but can deal when the proper warnings are applied.

Character Name: Joel Miller, live action flavor.
Canon: HBO's The Last of Us
Residence: Abandoned Farmland on the outskirts out town, that Joel has taken pains to restore and fix up proper.
Notable CR: He's an antisocial curmudgeon.
Skills:

Survival Skills: Due to his time as a hunter and smuggler Joel has become a master survivalist.
Stealth Skills: He is skilled with chokeholds and stealth, being able to creep up on a human and Infected without them noticing.
Expert Crafting Skills: Joel is also a skilled craftsman and can augment his own weapons. He is also able to craft Shivs, Smoke Bombs, Nail Bombs, and Molotovs.
Interrogation Skills: He is experienced with torture, an example is when he broke Robert's arm while Tess was trying to discover what happened to the weapons he was supposed to deliver to them, when he interrogated two cannibals with a knife to discover the location of Ellie and shooting Ethan in the stomach while trying to find out where Ellie's surgery was happening.
Weapons Master: Joel is also very skilled with guns and bow and arrows.
Master Combatant: He possesses tremendous fighting skills, Miller is a ferocious fighter, being able to overpower enemies much younger and faster than he is. He’s able to overpower Ethan, a Firefly despite the fact he was being held at gunpoint and he was obviously more military experienced. He was also able to overpower two cannibals despite the fact that he was still recovering from his life-threatening wound.

Day to Day:
hard to miss the farm house with the live horse but Joel's also known to do hunting, patrolling, and to stop by the school on occasion to look at the post board and stock up on provisions.

The Story So Far / Plans:
ultimately I'd like him to begrudgingly make some sort of found family in Milton and to share more himself than the typical gruff exterior. he's a hard nut to crack, but the gooey center is well worth the wait.

I also think he and Fraser would be really interesting! They both know a lot about survival and Fraser has made friends with people for less.

Shaw doesn't... exactly have a gooey center herself, but she's from a Found Family canon and is extremely capable of going ride-or-die for people, and I think these two would vibe personality-wise. Her combat/survival skills are all military-based rather than apocalypse-based, so she'd appreciate someone who'd be able to help her add subsistence hunting to her repertoire!

i love this and i'm all for found family. he'll teach her how to hunt so long as she can prove her mettle. he doesn't wanna take any weak links into the wilderness with him lol
