Glad you could be here! We hope you have a great time here in the Quiet Apocalypse. Don't lose too many fingers, this weather bites. I FINALLY DID IT. Cheryl here, and I'm bringing in Second Lieutenant George Hodgson from The Terror — finally completing the Terror Lieuts trio!! He's coming in from the point of his canon death, where he's attacked and killed by the Tuunbaq — so he's pretty far along in terms of the canon.

While he'll still have his injuries caused by the cold (ie. facial injuries), Hodgson will be coming in partially healed of his Scurvy but will still be suffering from effects of poor diet/starvation — he’ll be weakened and exhausted, but alive. He’ll need some time to recover from this. I’m also going to have the Aurora completely heal his Lead Poisoning from progressing — but he may still experience the permanent effects/scars of it (ie. headaches, joint/muscle pain, difficulties with concentration/memory).

He's gonna need to be taking it easy, physically speaking. But the man has come from the Mutiny Camp and the cannibalism and the very bad no good time all around. I'm ready for PAIN tbh 👀

Anyways, I'm excited to bring him into the game and to get him into some shenanigans. If you haven't already got me, y'all can catch me on plurk — heolstor or discord _heostor !

Hello! I'm Dakota with D'Artagnan from the BBC series The Musketeers. He's from early on before he gets his commission into said Musketeers, was at that point broke and homeless and thought it was the end of things for him, and he'll be looking mainly to prove himself useful or an asset in some way or another as he needs a purpose in life and doesn't know what to do with himself. D'Artagnan's kind of pissy and flippant, and a deadpan snarker, though he leans into politesse at times if it's more to his benefit to be passably cordial. Even then, he'll let a sarcastic remark slip in more often than not, may speak without thinking if he's stressed or annoyed, and he can be quick to anger (and violence) over mild slights. Past first impressions and awkward tendencies, he's overly emotional, deeply empathetic, and generally in some form of internal distress over having too many feelings about too many things. | info & permissions.

Hello hello everyone! This is Shade, player of Rorschach and Bullseye, and I'm bringing in my final character. Here's someone completely different to my usual character type. This is Connor Wolf from the Fables comics universe! He was here for a while before until life got too lifey for me and I lost the voice for him. But I decided to bring him back for the last long stretch of the game.

Connor is the son of Bigby Wolf and Snow White, which makes him half human, one quarter wolf, and one quarter wind spirit. Thanks to the Moon Touched Aurora Feat he got last time, he can change into a wolf again and couldn't be happier. He's got "classic fairy tale prince" looks but alas, he did not get the brains (that went to his other six siblings), which means he's good-hearted but also very much a himbo most of the time. That being said, he's also very brave and is being trained as a spy at the point he comes from. Canonly, he bears a very close resemblance to his mother, so characters are free to pick up on that, though the relationship that's guessed would be more likely brother and sister since his parents don't age.

Welcome, Dakota! I'm Lorna, and I play one of several resident human disasters, Wynonna Earp, from Syfy's Wynonna Earp. She's a cursed demon hunter descended from Wyatt Earp who's been here two years now and is always happy to make a new acquaintance when they're someone who might also throw hands at the drop of a hat. They can compare guns and be flippant at each other.

Hello! I’m Three and I’m excited to be here after hearing about this game for a long time from Lorna and finally having a character that seems like a good fit.

Aviendha here is from The Wheel of Time. Specifically the TV show version of you’re familiar with only the books she’s a bit more chill in the show.

Aviendha is a channeler in her cannon so she will be dealing with some annoyance at being unable to use magic in her arrival. She’s otherwise from a warrior society who is used to desert living so the snow of Milton is an entirely new and shocking experience.

I’m excited and open for all different types of CR. Aviendha generally can be somewhat sharp and judgmental and does best when people challenge her. The overall she’s always up for adventure though.

My name's Karen and I am returning to the game after ~6 months away. I am on EST and primarily try to tag in the evenings.

I WAS very familiar with the setting and lore from the inspiration for this game, but I know a lot has changed, so I'll be catching up along with my character. Speaking of, I'm bringing back Billy Prior from The Regeneration Trilogy written by Pat Barker.

My interest in storytelling and world-building is at the forefront, and I encourage anyone to feel free to bring wildcard situations and as much random dumb-assery as one can handle.

THAT BEING SAID, Prior is humorous but not a comedian, and much of the content surrounding him is potentially triggering. He can be crass, aggressive, angry, or downright manipulative at times. No hard feelings if you want to opt-out – that's what the option's there for, after all. ON THE OTHER HAND, in a group setting and when relied upon by others (either by design or by default), Prior can be forward-thinking, kind, generous, and warm. Circumstance means a lot when it comes to this character!

I will do my best to warn for content in my subject lines and I ask anyone who threads with me to do the same, where appropriate. If you're ever made uncomfortable by a thread we're sharing, feel free to let me know. We can stop at any time (although I'd appreciate notice if that's the case) or we can adjust according to your needs.

For anyone who may have known Prior before, his last several months in Milton were very sparse before he disappeared altogether. Upon his return, he has no memories of those last months due to the alternate personality being in control during that time. If anyone is interested in handwaving memories from that time to confuse the hell of out Prior, please feel free to reach out!

Hello all! I'm Rachel/Mysterious Forest Creature, and I am a new player at Singillatim. This here is Shao Anjun, an Original Character consisting of approximately 5 of my deep interests shoved into a blender and spun into one consistent delicious milkshake. Was that a weird metaphor? Good, there's probably more where that came from.

Since this character has no canon for anyone to be familiar with, here is a very quick summary of who he is at the time of his arrival in-game. Shao Anjun is a very kind, polite, and cultured gentleman. He has been spirited to Milton from the Huaxia Empire, a place roughly analogous with modern-day/real-world China, where he has lived for most of his life. Up to now, he has been a wandering herbalist who traveled the countryside, curing illness and injuries with medicinal tonics in return for hospitality. He is also a martial artist with expertise in sword and empty-handed fighting styles, but he hasn't really used those skills much in years. He is also a werewolf, a war veteran, and a fugitive from the state. But really, you don't need to know any of that stuff, do you?

Please don't hesitate to say hi to me and to tag with Shao Anjun wherever he may show up. I am friendly, and Shao Anjun is even friendlier. This is the first time I have been in a game since like 2011, so there's a chance I might make some silly mistakes out of ignorance - please feel free to correct me if I do anything that I shouldn't! I am easy to reach via PM and I'm also active on Discord.

Hey, I was super excited to see you in this game when I checked the Taken list! I’d actually just done the TDM with Shao Anjun on a whim, because I tried it with a different character a few months back and while I loved the setting, the character really didn’t fit well. I knew there was a cast from the Terror here, but I hadn’t thought to look at who played Ned until I’d already tagged the TDM.

Anyway, yes, thank you for tagging his arrival log! I’m so excited to see how these two get along when they’re both adults - both sadder and more haunted, which is a pity for them but Delicious Drama for us. Unlike his child-self, this Shao Anjun is already pretty bemused by Ned and the other Terror Boys’ facial hair; I can’t wait to see what he thinks about all their snazzy modern 1840s cold weather gear!
