Nothing against you, Miss Frazer-- I do really enjoy your company, and I would not bother to engage with you this much if I did not find you impressive in ways as a person. [ It's just.. imagining something romantically or sexually attractive about Chloe? Impossible. How do some men do it, honestly. ] It's just that attractive is another thing entirely.

We did not get along at first, let me tell you! She's so serious - she used to command a private army - and I'm not really a by-the-book kind of girl. But she's so brave, and fiercely loyal if she trusts you. Super cute too, she loves animals and was so excited when we got to see monkeys.

It doesn't hurt that she's gorgeous. [From the stories Nate and Sam had told about her, Chloe had kind of been picturing an ogre woman, so seeing her for the first time on that rooftop had been a pretty big shock.]

We fought a lot at first, but she had my back when it counted. That means a lot.

[ Something to note. Not that he has any interest of that sort in Chloe, obviously, but he likes her well enough that he wants to make sure no one who doesn't meet these standards attempts anything with her here. ]

Though preferring someone easy on the eyes is something universal, I imagine. Who wouldn't want that?

[Chloe still thinks a lot about the first time Nadine had called her by her first name - the fraying panic in a voice that's usually so controlled, the strong grip around her wrist stopping her fall, and somehow despite everything falling apart around them knowing in that moment that she was going to be okay - probably more often than either Nadine herself or Billy would want to know.

[ Briefly that last statement makes him think of Hickey killing Irving. Though-- he figures that likely hardly had anything to do with them and more with Hickey's own plans and annoyances, and then there's the fact he probably shouldn't bring up murder, huh.
