With the recent events that have transpired in regards to Young Bill's plan to starve out the Forest Talkers — the eco-terrorist group that has been hounding him and leaving macabre scenes all over the Lakeside area, Interlopers have called a town meeting to discuss what to do on this.

Rather than playing out the Town Meeting, like with the Darkwalker's second attack, consider this post an OOC post of that meeting, for players to share their character's thoughts and feelings on the situation — along with the best approach in regards to Young Bill's proposal.

Players are free to thread out scenes from the Town Meeting in their own event toplevels/open posts if they wish to do so — but this is more of a quick catchall on character's thoughts that's more accessible to everyone — and players can have their characters +1 ideas they agree with!

Character Thoughts/Ideas:

He's very vocally against kidnapping or starving the Forest Talkers, but he agrees with taking their ammo from the caches and attempting to communicate with them. Crozier's going to propose:

⚓ The creation of a sort of postal/messaging system between the two areas of Milton, utilizing all the super fast runners who'd like to volunteer to relay written or verbal messages. He won't ask the people who have telepathy to assist - that might be a bit too invasive at the moment.

⚓ Having a volunteer 'militia' that can be called on if the Forest Talkers move against them, utilizing that same messaging system. He's mainly just proposing a kind of minuteman situation of folks who don't mind moving out if there is a threat.

⚓ The communication to the Forest Talkers should be consistent between messages. There should be a kind of template or outline to follow that outlines the Interloper intentions (mainly peace or a peaceful retreat of the Forest Talkers, if what he's hearing from everyone is correct), and also set a consequence if any of them are attacked or have their property vandalized again.

Crozier will then suggest cutting off their supplies or driving them out through other means, with an open offer of protection to any defectors.

+ Ruby isn't at full speed thanks to her injury. But she is down to help out with communication where she can. She spoke with Jessica last month who was thinking of a starting a delivery service. She will suggest that Jessica take the lead on this if she wants!

+ Ruby likes this idea. And would volunteer for it if given the chance.

+ Also agrees with consistent messaging and everything else stated here.

About that injury, Miss Ma'am. You can volunteer when you're 100% recovered!

That doesn't sound like pushing through until your mental and physical health completely crumble at all.

Re: the postal system idea, Randvi has been using Jessica’s courier system a bit so she’d put her forward for that.

The militia would probably need some kind of organization or person authorized to scramble it because as we can see here a lot of interlopers have different ideas on what level of intervention is appropriate.

+1 also to consistent messaging: they need to decide as a group what the win condition of this whole situation looks like. Young Bill wants them to leave Lakeside but where would they go? Milton? Exile?

Randvi is the second person to bring up Jessica, so he’d try to connect with her after this. He wants an emergency messaging system, so if she could round up some of the runners to join her it could be a happy marriage.

lol Randvi, what could you possiblyyyyy mean re: people having different ideas about force. XD Crozier would agree, and put forth that there should be some level-headed folk among them voted to lead the groups.

Voting is a good idea but also I think Randvi has been fooled by every single bad man in Milton so maybe she shouldn't get a vote.

sansa's wondering if there are: a) crows they could train, and b) how young would any of the fighters be, for this proposed militia.

Training crows is an excellent idea! Crozier would ask if she knew how.

And he’s firmly against anyone too young volunteering for the militia, but he also knows the population is like…half teenager and child soldier, and stopping them would be difficult. He’d definitely push for some of the older folks to offer their services if they decide to move forward on this.

she wouldn't know how to train crows unfortunately, but she'd be happy to test methods and figure it out along the way!

sansa's going to ask if there's some form of census or registry of who's arrived since, and what they can do, it might be a good idea to know who's who and who might be interested in either fighting or defending milton 🤔

Zoey thinks that trying to starve them out could backfire and escalate things badly. She definitely agrees that messaging should be consistent. And being prepared in case of peaceful coexistence not being possible, too. (She'd probably volunteer for recon/information gathering, too. To try and keep folks apprised of things.)

There needs to be plans, and backup plans, just in case.

levi's in for the militia. he also real fast and willing to carry messages/supplies

Crozier was actually specifically thinking of Levi to be a messenger for him! He wants him to deliver some letters in Lakeside and thinks he'd be great at alerting people if there was trouble in one location.

he's always happy to help! and tries to visit lakeside once every three weeks or so anyway
