Town Meeting

Town Meeting

Town Meeting

With the recent events that have transpired in regards to Young Bill's plan to starve out the Forest Talkers — the eco-terrorist group that has been hounding him and leaving macabre scenes all over the Lakeside area, Interlopers have called a town meeting to discuss what to do on this.

Rather than playing out the Town Meeting, like with the Darkwalker's second attack, consider this post an OOC post of that meeting, for players to share their character's thoughts and feelings on the situation — along with the best approach in regards to Young Bill's proposal.

Players are free to thread out scenes from the Town Meeting in their own event toplevels/open posts if they wish to do so — but this is more of a quick catchall on character's thoughts that's more accessible to everyone — and players can have their characters +1 ideas they agree with!

Please fill out the following form.

EDIT: THERE IS A POLL FOR INTERLOPERS TO VOTE ON

We can probably handwave it since most of it will be straight-up instruction - though she is also a Lightbringer so they'd have an opportunity to talk about that if we thread it out.

A handwave works! All Raju would have to say about lightbringer stuff if it came up is mostly that he can’t consistently control it yet and that’s frustrating him. Is there anything particular to the way she would teach him about making the arrows? Like, how they’re collecting the feathers, or whether the arrowhead is getting stuck on with resin, or anything like that?

For bows, she’ll recommend fibre strings like flax or linen over an animal material because humidity can shrink sinew.

In terms of feathers, she’ll recommend the longest ones they can find - sacrificing a bit of speed in favour of stability makes sense for mostly novice archers.

She attaches her arrowheads with sinew as well - chew it a bit to get it wet and “activate” it, and it'll shrink when it dries to hold the arrowhead in place.

That makes sense! So they'll be relying on the hunters to get feathers and sinew they can use. How do you think they might get material for the strings? The only thing I can think is tearing up linen clothes but it doesn't feel like that would really do it.

Yeah, that's a little tricky! You want long fibres for strength, so the weave of fabric would weaken the strings.

They could try unbraiding rope for now, and see if Tim might be able to grow flax at the farm for longer term.

Ooh yeah good idea, I might mention this in the discord so I'll try to remember to mention the flax thing there to Tim's player.
