Character Name: Harry Goodsir
Canon: The Terror
Residence: A small cabin in town that seems to have previously belonged to a scientist or doctor.
Notable CR: Big past history with Hickey and Little; Kate (has known her for all of a fortnight and if anything happened to her, would kill everyone and then himself)
Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
• Plant and animal biology, including some foraging experience.
• Care and handling of animals, both domestic and wild.
• A knack for picking up languages.
• Ability to perform medical procedures.
• Caveat: all of these can only be considered current as of 1845—predating germ theory, anaesthesia, and Darwin's On the Origin of the Species. He's a quick study and willing to educate himself, but he's going to have catching-up to do.

Wanted CR: Literally anything.
Unwanted CR: Comes pre-packaged with a mortal enemy so probably don't need anymore, at least for now?

Day to Day: Spending a LOT of time reading and catching up with the latest advances in modern science. Door is open to anyone who needs medical help or who wants to talk out some weird discovery.

The Story So Far / Plans: The whole September business is kind of fucking him up a bit. He's in an uneasy detente of mutually assured destruction with Hickey, and Dealing With the fact that he has very mixed feelings about Little. He is struggling with major guilt over what he did to the mutineers (except for Hickey) and agonising over whether or not Crozier survived. He is desperate to be the person he believed he was before everything went south, but also doesn't believe can be, or deserves to be. He is, in short, a mess, and pretending not to be, and is going to get worse before he gets better.

Goodsir Little handshake over Struggling With Major Guilt.... I really love how like, there's Goodsir (took action, did something Helpful) and there's Little (stagnant with inaction, did nothing Helpful) and yet they both end up at the same place of having such guilt over others' lives and having a hard time dealing with that in this "next chance" setting they've been sucked into :) Plus all the uncomfortable little parallels they may possibly see as they learn more about each others' situations.... I cannot wait for Edward to possibly learn about what happened to Hodgson and the other mutineers, too... Ugh it's all so messy and complicated and upsetting, I love it.
