I know the third is true, but I'm not sure what a college professor is. Or physics.

It all has to do with school! They made me take a lot of it before they would let me into space.

I barely know anything about school that I haven't learned from the children here!

And yet you're probably going to out-last all of us with your knowledge on wilderness survival. It just goes to show that schooling isn't everything!

It's fascinating to think that at the lower levels it's standardized. Do children of all classes need to know the same things?

[sputnik]

They do — ideally. Reading, writing, mathematics... all children are meant to be taught them, in their primary years.

There is a different quality of education to be offered depending on the area, though. And private schools — which cost more money to send your children to.

Every adult in your world can read? [It's difficult to believe.] I suppose the necessity is more common now that books are mass produced.
