[ She's sure she knows the answer to this one, however— ]

You had a pet seal? And a golden eagle? Like they were just in your house?

Where do you even keep a pet seal—?

Perhaps it's an overstatement to call the seal a pet. More accurate to say that we made it tame enough that it would come to us at the shore for fish and milk.

For the eagle, we built a cage in the garden behind my father's house. It became something of a spectacle for the villagers to see it fed—they would bring it rats and vermin and such to watch it stoop to its prey. Once a child ventured too close to the palings and the eagle lunged at her with its beak and talons—I had to pull her back to save her from injury.

Oh, I like the sound of that a whole lot better. It's actually really cute! It'd come say 'hi' when you'd go visit. Like a friend!

Uh— eagle sounds... less cute, though. I don't think I'd ever want to get close to one of those. Birds of prey are kinda scary.
