Hey there, folks. 👋

My name's Karen and I am brand new to the game. I am on EST and primarily try to tag in the evenings. Thanks for having me!

I am very familiar with the setting and lore from the inspiration for this game, so I am pumped to be able to play with a level of confidence straight from day 1 (ish). I'm bringing Billy Prior from The Regeneration Trilogy written by Pat Barker. Here are a few quick links for easy access to information about him (with some spoilers for the book series):

My interest in storytelling and world-building is at the forefront, and I encourage anyone to feel free to bring wildcard situations and as much random dumb-assery as one can handle.

THAT BEING SAID, Prior is humorous but not a comedian, and much of the content surrounding him is potentially triggering. He can be crass, aggressive, angry, or downright manipulative at times. No hard feelings if you want to opt-out – that's what the option's there for, after all. ON THE OTHER HAND, in a group setting and when relied upon by others (either by design or by default), Prior can be forward-thinking, kind, generous, and warm. Circumstance means a lot when it comes to this character!

I will do my best to warn for content in my subject lines and I ask anyone who threads with me to do the same, where appropriate. If you're ever made uncomfortable by a thread we're sharing, feel free to let me know. We can stop at any time (although I'd appreciate notice if that's the case) or we can adjust according to your needs.

So, yeah! Hit me up for plotting at any time by PM. I will probably post a log here in the next day or two with some open prompts as well, so if you see Prior out there, feel free to say hello.

CANNOT BELIEVE SOMEONE IS PLAYING FROM THE REGENERATION TRILOGY I'M SO HYPE honestly this is such a throwback for me. I studied the first book back in High School no lie "gob-stopper" is forever ingrained in my brain :')

It is so uncommon to find people who are familiar, at least in my neck of the woods!! I am le American, so a total poser, but it's my absolute favorite book series and Prior has been on my list for serious play for too damn long!

(Funny you should mention gobstopper, because I have that account as well and just never had the heart to use it against poor Prior.)

Yeeeah, see we did World War One literature for a term when I was doing my A Levels — which included both Regeneration and Birdsong (and So Much Poetry). I read the second book, but never around to the third iirc? I do still have my copy of Regeneration!

As oh my god, I'm dying at that. Poor Prior... but brilliant though!

Hey there Karen, happy to welcome you into the game!

I'm Jhey and I have two horror guys here — Lieutenant Edward Little from The Terror (a Victorian from the doomed Franklin Expedition) and Commander Konstantin Veshnyakov sputnik from the movie Sputnik (a cosmonaut from the 80's who ended up infested with an alien parasite... as one does,)

Prior sounds like an incredibly intriguing character, especially for a setting like this, so I look forward to seeing what he gets up to and all the fun survival horror shenanigans with you. I hope you enjoy it here!

In all honesty, The Terror is a huge part of the reason I'm here, up to and including the allure of seeing a large cast at play! Really looking forward to the shenanigans.

Veshnyakov sounds really interesting and I might check out the canon. Something tells me that Prior's got fewer problems than most in game, so that's going to be a wild thing to see in play.
