Skills: As a Commander and Hero of his country, Konstantin is well-accustomed to the role of leadership, and has experience with the extremely vigorous physical and mental training required for both military and cosmonaut preparation. He has much knowledge of space science and technology, and plenty of experience being in confined environments. He's also extremely good with people, being a model of "social excellence" where he's from and regarded as the Exemplary Soviet Man... However, a lot of this is being tested since he is freshly infected with an entire alien and is weakened and sick due to the game effects... babygirl hasn't exactly been the best version of himself here and it's devastating for him

Wanted CR:

alien things — Kostya's been in game for a year now and I really want to amp up the alien horror with him! There's a lot of potential for alien things and I'd love to explore more of it. People encountering this thing unexpectedly, medical folks to help him out with it, people for it to befriend (or alternatively, I'd also love any antagonistic encounters & Worm Enemies), people who can help it find ways to better adjust in this environment where it continues to struggle, I'm down for it all. Something that's been building for him is how to live in a community with others despite his situation and even finding ways to utilise it to help people? Maybe??

friendships / companionships — Kostya's a very friendly and sociable guy, but his Worm Situation has meant he's kept up a certain distance from most folks, even those he's on good terms with. I'd love to strengthen / deepen his cr and find ways to bond with more people, or meet some new! He's also been a "concept" of a thing for so long that learning how to People more genuinely is still really new for him, so I want to do more of that, too.

dadly things — Coming with heaping doses of Father Abandonment issues of his own, Kostya also perpetuated the cycle and ended up abandoning his own son, too! Uh oh! Naturally this is an immense source of guilt in him and he's barely scratched the surface with Son Feels. I'm always here for all the dad talks, themes, younger folks, fellow parents, etc.

other — fellow monsters, fellow heroes / those with complicated experience regarding such a role, anyone with fellow lab rat / experimentation experience, opportunities for leaderships & team-up things. I'd love to find ways for him to become closer with the community itself and become more a part of it. I've had the thought that he might try to offer some kind of particular service to people here, or find people he can help out more in specific ways

Unwanted CR:

Kostya can be a big harmless flirt, but he's spoken for romantically — having fallen for his undead ex-Chekist roomie (as one does)

Day to Day: Usually at his and Vasya's little homestead where he helps tend to things as best as he can despite his Condition - he's also been learning how to do homemaker things like cooking and cleaning, as well as assisting Vasiliy on occasion when he sees patients. He ventures to town at times to make trades / try to keep in the know with what's been going on, spends some time ice-fishing and foraging for whatever he can, scavenging any electrical and technological parts for little projects, and seeking out some social situations to recharge his extroverted battery. He also walks / jogs a lot, trying to keep himself in good physical shape despite how ill his condition makes him, and he will rope anyone in with him who wants to (and even people who don't. You Will Run)

The Story So Far / Plans:

— Dealing with the fallout of September's events, in which his alien passenger killed & fed from an Interloper NPC during the chaos. Feeding from human blood stabilised its (and Kostya's) condition for a few weeks, but he's now back to being very ill, and isn't handling it well. The knowledge that in order to feel well and be more capable he'd have to feed regularly from humans is a pretty hefty one.

— Now that the alien has freshly fed from its preferred food choice, Kostya's going to be extremely worried that it might want to do that again soon, so he'll be concerned with making sure it knows who's Friends. We don't eat Friends. He'll be looking to really get into things like talking more to his cr about it / getting them "closer" to this thing / trying to train it / learn more about its functioning / etc. It goes directly against his preferred method of handling things, which is to Run Away & Ignore the Ugly Stuff, so I'd love to keep pushing against his comfort levels there.

— Inbetween all that, he's become Boyfriends(?) what are Labels?? + some Bisexual Panic?? with Vasya, after they survived the harrowing Forest Talker Invasion in September together. Konstantin's Genuinely In Love with someone else for the first time in his life (incredible but terrifying!), and has a lot of personal reservations / uncertainties / fears about his situation to go along with it. Being So Close to someone feels like the last thing someone like him should do, and there's endless guilt about the life he's "left behind" back home. All that said, I think he's having to learn how to let himself be genuinely happy, and what that actually means.

— atm I'd really love to do some cr-building / expanding type things, and dive in deeper with Kostya in this setting now that he's been here for a good while and largely fizzled out of the idea that "Escaping This Place" is the main goal. Now it's more about surviving and helping others survive, and finding ways to have as good a quality of life as he can despite his "condition", as well as possible ways to work with and around it. It's a constant part of his existence now, and I'd love to explore that concept more deeply! The longer-term psychological effects just as much as the physical, etc.

Sorry it took me forever to wrap their most recent thread, but the Doctor is very serious about doing anything he can to help Kostya — I'd love to build on that momentum and do something new with them. I didn't want to assume too much, but if you were up for it, he would have definitely at least checked in on him the best he could, but I'd love more with them.

Kostya was definitely lying low for a good while after September's attack, so it could be fun for them to touch base and for him to maybe reveal to the Doctor that this thing killed & ate someone.... He'll be lowkey (highkey) nervous how the Doctor would react to that but I think definitely also increasingly desperate to get some help about it all!

Yes, super agreed on that, I'm very excited for all the potential with them! And definitely the chance for Kostya to share about the creature killing and eating someone. Looking forward to it!

LISTEN I would absolutely be down, we could even just have a running log to slap up dumb little Moments for him to bother the fuck out of her in.... and god it's still so funny to me that somewhere out there I fully believe in a Sing AU where these two end up coping with their Feelings & Commitment Angsts by having at least 1 one night stand... This place is literally hell!!! no not because of the constant freezing temperatures or the never-ending dark or the supernatural fuckery, because they caught feelings and it's the most terrifying thing in the world

I also really do love the idea of them having A Moment to relate about this shit, and it's so ironic that she's one of the few people who would Get It so much, apart from probably Chloe. I'm sure Kostya will be lingering around somewhere in major need of a drink that he tragically can't actually drink, as he Reflects on all of this.

He does run a lot! Lately he's having a bit of a hard time with it bc he's pretty sick again, but he's stubbornly keeping it up. Maybe Levi could join him for a jog, help an old man out... and I can see Kostya openly telling him about his Alien Situation too, maybe even in the same thread? Gets all sick again and is like "okay there's something you should know,"

Character Name: Edward Little
Canon: The Terror
Residence: 41 Mackenzie Street with John Irving, Kate Marsh, and Merry the puppy...
Skills: Edward is a First Lieutenant of the Royal Navy, and so comes with extensive training as a senior & executive officer. He was also a member of the doomed Franklin Expedition, so he's coming into this setting with some years' experience with survival horror out in the frigid Arctic (living in cramped ship quarters, having to ration dwindling supplies, and dealing with various Frozen Landscape Terrors! And has had some encounters with a Supernatural Spooky Thing.) He also really likes Making Reports, Keeping Up With Stock, and Making Announcements in a Commanding Voice... Now that his third lieutenant is in game, folks might actually get to see Ned being A Figure of Authority as he delegates tasks to Irving... He's also a really good Guard Dog (pathetic, but unflinchingly loyal)

Wanted CR:

folks to nanny — in his nervous but resilient way.... Edward is not a Paternal Type necessarily, more the "I have responsibility for someone and it's My Job" type, as well as "falling to the role of Reluctant Nanny / Middle Manager because I had to, as the First Lieutenant of a failing expedition". He's been embracing it more these days and actively fussing over / trying to take care of people. This could be for young folks but also anyone, really

guard dog things — For a long time now, Ned has been struggling with the concept of losing his Purpose, and a huge part of that for him is needing something to be loyal to.... despite the fact that his extreme loyalty also ended up being his undoing :) I'd really love to dig into this theme with him further here — the concept of being a guard dog / pet dog / even an old dog that's outlived its use, etc...

others — fellow Olden People that he can vibe with, those from modern times to teach him things, fellow military / law enforcement types, canon cr drama things (he has a good deal of canonmates here in game now, and I'm wide open to any drama / talks / etc. that could go along with that....!)

Day to Day: Lately, he hasn't been patrolling as much and keeping himself more isolated, but usually Ned can be found diligently walking the town, trying to maintain order, checking in on people, volunteering for Guard Dog duties if anyone needs an escort... He usually makes his rounds to the Community Hall twice a day, and does various other Tasks around town as needed — chopping wood, assisting people, counting things....

The Story So Far / Plans:

— Like Kostya, a lot of Ned's Deal lately has been dealing with September's aftermath, when he was fatally stabbed by a Forest Talker and healed by Kate Marsh. Since then, he's mostly spent time resting up and keeping an eye on Kate, though he has occasionally left the house to do things like attend A Harrowing Terror Meeting led by Crozier, as well as the Last Sunset of the Year Party.

— A lot of canon truths have come out into the light now, and Ned's kind of left unsure how to... contend with all of it, so he's been in a pretty funky place, but I think more open now to maybe talking about some of that? This will be kind of situational, and what he shares would depend on who he's talking to and when, but there's a lot of potential there. He also now keeps the pocketwatch chain that this place gifted him on-person at all times. :) iykyk :)

— Also like Kostya, I'd really love to do some chill things and dive deeper into cr / play catch-up there. I'm sorry that I don't have more specific Thoughts here, I've been in my own kind of funky place with Ned lately and am still trying to find ways to get him involved again, so I'm taking things pretty slowly with him atm! I also apologise for falling completely off the earth with him for like a month straight. I ended up clean-slating my threads, but if there's something that anyone especially wants to pick back up, just lmk! I'm just trying to find some Movement for him again

i saw you saying on plurk that you were going to clean slate your tags, so i wanted to touch base on what ned might have said in their post-town-meeting-reveals thread, because otherwise i might have a hard time knowing kind of where these two stand.. or if you do want to continue that one, that's also fine with me, of course!! it's just one of those 'oh no, i don't know what this cr is up to without knowing how that thread went' things since it's kind of an important one..

Oh my gosh, I looked back at that thread now and actually couldn't believe I hadn't replied, because your last tag to it hit me like a train (in a good way!!) and I remember being so excited to reply... Ahhh I'm so bummed that I fell into the slumpiest slump right when Ned had so many great threads going on, the end of October & November were not my friends

I apologise for falling off with both that one and the fire-powers-reveal, since I realise that one is probably important for knowing where they stand with each other too, and I'm absolutely down to continue those both if it's not too late! I love writing with Gibson so much and his threads with Ned are always so so good... I'm the worst kind of sorry but I'm going to try very hard to get back into the swing of things with him!!

Among all the many other things something I would love to do with them is let Ned actually Guard Dog her instead of worrying about not being able to... I'm 1000% sure there will be a good opportunity for it in the Jan event but I'd love for her to have the thought process at some point of 'I'm gonna go do XYZ Dangerous Thing but I promised Little he could come along' or even just tell him ahead of time so he knows where to go if something Goes Wrong... maybe he could then be in a position to actually help her (or it could backfire on him, again)...

Whether that ends up being successful Guard Dogging or kind of an 'old dog's lost his tricks' situation IDK but it's something I've been thinking about a lot wrt to their 'deal' and now post-FT attack stuff

Y E S oh my gosh yes I would love that so much. I feel like that truly would work out so well after the Forest Talker attack, with both of them no doubt wanting to keep an eye on each other even more closely now, and Ned insisting he come with her next time something Dangerous happens that she has to jump into. And like you said — it could go a few different ways, but would be SUPER interesting to see no matter what, and I think would be something he needs for sure. Let him Guard Dog you, Miss Earp!!

YEAH and honestly I'm inclined to give him a win by letting him get her out of a sticky situation or helping her after said sticky situation... sorry Ned, your new reality includes one (1) reckless mess of a woman who has a tendency to just throw herself at problems without thinking things through...

let's see what January brings us and we can figure it out from there! god knows they have enough to deal with right now...

I think A Win could be really good for him honestly, even if it's not a FULL win or no doubt comes with some Complications... I'd be happy to plan something for the next event with that for sure, either way! Love the idea of them both continuing to learn how to grow together as a sort of Unit — he can't stop her from rushing into danger, she can't stop him from coming to help her (and honestly vice-versa with both sides of that for them....) — so instead of fighting a fruitless battle, let's find ways to keep each other alive during all of that!
