crowbars, if you want to add me!) and i'm returning to the game with a new character - dick grayson, aka nightwing of dc comics, aka one of the more emotionally stable batfam members, who will be arriving fresh off of getting knocked out in the middle of a massive fire into the snowpocalypse.

a little about me: i read too many comics despite the fact i also loudly protest how bad they are (anyone who is into comics is a little masochistic, lbr), i wfh in the IT field which can get extremely busy and hectic but there's also long periods of. . . close to nothing, so i'm usually pretty available during the week but i am an awful weekend tagger.

as for dick: he was robin the first, batman the second, and arrived in his nightwing gear and nothing else. he's a sweetheart who will jump in to help people first, ask questions later - and usually ends up playing the emotional support role to every other robin when it's needed, because bruce can't be expected to do that for his own kids. nah, that's the responsibility of his kid with Eldest Daughter Syndrome. outside of that, he enjoys making terrible puns, landing in the most dramatic way possible, and being a general menace to society.

his canonpoint is chapter 81 of the 2016 nightwing run! i'll be working on journal set up later this week (since i've been lazy), but i look forward to getting to play with all of you - again, in some cases!

hello singills! i'm zelly, and i'm returning to the game after a long time away (not sure if anyone will recall but i had barbie here for a bit!), this time with matt murdock, from mcu/netflix's daredevil show. he's coming in from the midst of season 3, so there won't be any born again spoilers or anything of the like, and he's just finished overcoming his deep depression era, with a work-in-progress new-ish zest for life. perfect time to throw him into a frozen hellscape, right? c:

as for me, i operate from the pst timezone in western canada, and i usually try to clear a round of tags every few days, though i do have busy spurts at work that kind of dry up my braincells so this may not always work like clockwork. i'm still in this marvel hell no matter how many times i try to leave it, with my faves being spider-man, daredevil (ofc), guardians of the galaxy, and shang-chi (let my boy have a sequel movie, pleASE). i also love vidya games — i'm big time getting back into final fantasy and have been crushing ffxiv msq, so i'm always happy to chat about that! and i'm a huge stationery nerd as well. i can talk about paper and ink for ... probably too long tbh.

early thirtysomethings from catholic backgrounds 🤝🤝🤝

would love for these two kids to meet!! freddie grew up catholic, became an atheist age 7 when his parents got divorced, and spent the rest of his life pretending to be catholic in their presence, so he's got some resentment and baggage that would probably come out sooner or later around a believer! by the same token, though, i think he is able to relate more easily to other characters from catholic backgrounds, and he does self-identify specifically as ethnically (half) irish catholic and sort of recognizes that he is culturally catholic whether he wants to be or not.

he's also totally blind to the huge impact his catholic upbringing had on his current body image issues/internalization of fatphobia/intense moralization of food and weight/reaction to getting the purple heart, so i think it could be super interesting for him to sort of witness somebody else's catholic guilt from a more objective standpoint and possibly start to notice faint traces of similar behavior in himself!

also i'm canonblind-ish but as i understand it?? matt is flirty and if freddie clocks that i think he would definitely make an attention-seeking pass at him if that's something you'd be interested in playing out!

hello! yeah, all of this sounds like it could be a good foundation for some interesting cr. matt doesn't really keep it a secret that he's catholic (as seen above in the gifs lmao) or that he's had his own struggles with god and faith over the years, so i'm sure it'll come up eventually or will make itself known sooner than later.

and yeah! matt does have a charming, flirtatious side if he catches a vibe with someone, so we could absolutely play that out too ehehehe

I'm pysched to see Matt around! I definitely want to toss Wynonna at him. Style and personality-wise, she's somewhat reminiscent of Jessica Jones... which could be good OR bad, depending, I guess. He might enjoy getting to know a demon hunter who regularly sends bad guys to Actual Hell. I don't know how familiar you are with her canon but there are definite Religious Overtones even as early on as she's from, so they've got that going for them. Plus, he's cute, so she'll enjoy looking at him.

i absolutely ADORE wynonna earp, i watched the show with a buddy a few years back and i was hooked from like, episode 1 i stg ITS SO FUN and wynonna is SUCH A GOOD CHARACTER. but yeah!!! her vibe is totally jjones-ish, and matt will fondly catch on to this vibe as well c': i can't wait for them to be best friends 4ever.

Root is like... a villain turned hero because she decided this A.I. was going to be her god, and the A.I. in question is a sweetheart who loves everyone, so guess that means she's saving people now! She's a bit of a hellion but quite funny with most people. 70% irreverence and 20% dual wielding pistols and 10% grand metaphysical philosophizing that absolutely no one asked for.

Howdy! It's me, Yasmine, coming at you with ANOTHER weird guy. I've already been playing Vasya (

m1895), Kostya's not-husband/resident ex-Stalinist ghoul, since game open, and now I'm bringing in Freddie! For those that don't know me, I'm a New Englander (so EST), about to turn 29 in a month, currently working as a cell culture scientist with diseases of livestock. I work a M-F 9-5, so I'm pretty much almost exclusively a weekend tagger, but sometimes I can sneak in some tags in the mornings if it's quiet in the lab. I am slow!!

As for Freddie:

what to expect/notes on ic-ooc divide!

My CW page goes into depth on what each potential triggering topic might look like, but I’d like to make a quick accompanying note here that although this character has an ED at this point ingame, his mental illness very much is not the entirety of who he is and he’s not like, in every single tag harping on how much he hates himself or being graphically sick onscreen or something/I’m not just looking for threads “about” his ED in the absence of very, very close CR/ooc discussion. He's actually very secretive about it and very talented at concealing signs of purging/mental illness, so the warnings are mostly for things like passing dysfunctional thoughts or mentions of some of the physical effects it's had on him (ex: discomfort when drinking alcohol because of sore throat). It's unlikely to come up in-character unless he gets caught (with ooc discussion only) and would require close deeply trusting CR.

OOC/IC divide is really important with this character given the themes that he touches on. Especially given that he’s an OC, which can cause some discomfort, I want to emphasize that I am not Freddie and he is not me; our opinions/beliefs/actions aren't equivalent and I’m not using him as a chance to write about any trauma/experiences I've personally had or anything like that. The listed CWs are things that can come up, but they’re not like, the summation of who the whole character is. I more warn very assertively and gratuitously because there’s the possibility that disordered thought patterns or some of the physical effects he’s currently dealing with may come up in passing if something a character does sends him on that train of thought and I want to be considerate of players who find even those passing mentions disturbing.

If that sounds like you but you’re not comfortable sending an opt out, rest assured, I don’t tag out with this character without privately asking first because of the subject matter and always warn even for minor mentions in the subject lines of his tags in case someone else is reading!

Freddie's a 33-year-old, lapsed Catholic commercial pilot in modern NYC who just got out of his ten years of service in the Air Force last year. Personality-wise, he's friendly, genuinely kind, witty, and can be fun to be around, but he has some serious commitment/intimacy issues stemming from the parental divorce that made him a devout atheist at age 7 and getting cheated on during his first deployment ten years ago which have left him chronically incapable of attaining the intimacy he craves. Instead he just chases it with a life full of hookups, which he consistently self-sabotages by ghosting or calling it off after two or three meetings before he actually gets the kind of affection he's seeking. Despite his poor body image and the repressed feelings of inadequacy further fueled by a childhood in which he knew he wasn't particularly wanted, he gives the impression of someone confident and in-control - when in reality he spends each day feeling like he's holding on by his fingernails.

This feeling is largely because he has spent the past 4 months skating under the radar with severe undiagnosed bulimia, which he developed within a week of being told at his biannual FAA medical examination that the recent weight gain that had come with landing the dream job at an international airport was "concerning" and that the gene-environment interaction of the dramatic dietary change had led to pronounced, symptomatic insulin resistance and prediabetes bordering on Type 2. A diabetic pilot who requires insulin loses their pilot's license—and with it Freddie's all-consuming purpose and greatest joy in life—so when the medical examiner adopted a scare tactic, faintly moralizing approach, Freddie panicked, attempted extremely restrictive dieting for a week, and fell into bulimia when that wasn't possible for him. The disorder took over his life like wildfire, becoming extremely unsustainable within weeks. Now, four months into it, he’s at a point of purging in secrecy about 3-4 times a day and has malnutrition, fatigue, some serious dental issues, and a slew of other uncomfortable physical symptoms coming from his body buckling under the strain he’s put it under.

Coming into Milton is going to be a turning point for him, and he's going to have to enter his slow recovery arc pretty soon into his time ingame. As it stands right now, he's dealing with a lot of fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath because he's just not getting adequate nutrition. One of his orthorexic compulsions is checking his blood sugar numerous times a day to soothe his anxiety and to use as a meterstick for how harsh to be to himself, and he's arrived with a coin battery operated glucose meter - while he's smart enough to take it out when it's not in use, and batteries for these go a long way, what won't go a long way are the consumable strips needed to test one's blood glucose. Every time you test your blood sugar, you have to put a drop of blood into the channel on a paper/plastic strip and feed it into the meter. He's going to be able to scrounge and find a container or two based on the prevalence of diabetes in the general population, but he's going to have to start seriously tempering the compulsive behavior now or he will run out fast. His dental issues have stabilized because of the Aurora, and his insulin resistance isn't getting any worse - but he's still symptomatic, so he has fatigue, insatiable hunger, etc. Which, of course, is a problem, as is the bingeing/purging, because food is a finite resource here.

All of this said, Freddie hides his mental health issues very well, and is quite practiced at it. It's extremely unlikely that a character would be able to flag him as bulimic or even lacking in confidence (and would require OOC plotting). He's going to be on his usual flirty antics, because he's going to have to learn that there are consequences to sleeping around when there's no way for you to just vanish into the ether as soon as things start getting a little too close for comfort!!

He actually has a lot of survival training, and went through US Air Force SERE school on account of being a pilot, so he's going to be teaching SERE classes in the Milton Church with Irving's blessing pretty soon! I'm excited to get that off of the ground, so please let me know if that's something your character would be interested in attending/helping with the logistics of. It should be noted that becoming a SERE instructor is a whole separate professional thing, though, so this definitely won't be military-quality instruction, more just him passing on everything he knows!

Also: Freddie is hard-of-hearing—he's lost about 20% of his hearing across the board—and can't distinguish individual words when characters mumble/will need to ask characters with quiet/soft voices to speak up. Please lmk if your character is quieter/mumbles!

wingedvoices), and I am BRAND NEW here. I know several of you all already, and got to know a few of you a little through the TDM, which was so cool, thanks for being welcoming! I'm excited, even if arriving late (sans Starbucks, even).

About me: Um? I'm in CST. I'm kind of one foot in, one foot out of fandom at all times; currently I'm in between s1 and s2 of a Daredevil rewatch, so it made me happy to see zelly with Matt up there. I love music, musicals, mythology (...yes, that may have been tangentially related >_>), ttrpgs, worldbuilding. (Coming up with projects I don't finish.) Bad puns. Mixing politics with my fandoms even when I don't intend to (The Locked Tomb, Les Mis, Arcane, etc).

I'm self-employed/WFH so I'm around at very random times. I tag in spurts and can be slow sometimes for various reasons. Because of this I LOVE to plan in advance and/or make up offscreen CR, and just banter about characters unseriously too.

And what better way to enter a game than with someone nobody knows, right? (#yikes) I'm bringing in my OC, Teddy Roberts (+1 ~~lightly spoiled service dog~~ Very Good Girl, Scout). I usually introduce Teddy as something like a queer writer/musician/student -- but way more important in this game:

Teddy's from coal country in Central Appalachia and is experienced in camping/survival/hunting/just nature?, knows probably more than they even realize about coal mining/mines themselves and is, frankly, relieved that if they were going to be dropped in the middle of a place they didn't know, it at least has mountains (no real seasons, though!?!).
...but yes, they are also a queer writer/musician/student, with a lot of opinions but a genuine desire to contribute to the places they live (albeit also a tendency to stay up too late playing guitar: not sure how close these lots sit :P).

A few little things about Teddy that might be worth mentioning OOC:
- they are genderqueer/genderfluid, which i bring up first not because it's the most important thing, but because I write them with rolling pronouns so it's probably the most noticable. (Usually. I'm using 'they' in this post for simplicity; sometimes they also just show up in my head with a preference, idk.) Teddy themself -- while they would be ecstatic -- really does not expect it, or even to be asked; they won't correct/bring up their own gender to people until they get a feel for them. Feel free to have your character use whatever makes sense narratively OR just makes you comfortable.

- Speaking of which, I will not be offended by someone reacting negatively to Teddy's ...um, everything. *waves at the heavily tattooed, masc-presenting-with-long-hair lil dude with the this machine kills fascists and queer joy stickers on their guitar* And potentially, excited, depending on the intent: negative CR just because can be meh, but developing an interesting conflict, ideological challenge or forced-to-work-together-later scenario is fun.

- As you may have surmised from Scout, Teddy is disabled: they have mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (link is to a writeup: most of what they experience is not what most people imagine when they hear "seizure"). I've done an Aurora Freeze on Teddy's epilepsy so it behaves as if they had all their medications, so that this does not become play/CR-defining, which I have zero interest in. They still may have seizures from time to time, because their epilepsy is refractory (which is why they have Scout!) and because that's their life. I will not spring a seizure on you in a tag without warning, or even with only-subject-line warning (tbh it's unlikely to happen outside its own planned thread, even if that would be more realistic). However, the general concept and concern about it will probably get mentioned in narration at times. If you need to let me know you need to opt out of any mention, you want me to be aware in advance that you will NEVER want that in a thread, or you want to opt out of any interactions at all, I will not be hurt.

- Teddy uses more regional slang as they're more tired/stressed/angry/afraid (...so, basically the whole TDM), if they've been drinking, etc, and also code-shifts when they're comfortable. (Their accent is also more prominent, but I don't write that out.) If you're from or have lived in the Eastern KY or Southern WV areas and you want to correct me or suggest something, please, please do. My lived experience has overlaps, but it is very much not Teddy's, and I do a ton of digging around to try and do right by them: I would be delighted to have a better grasp.

Maelle is a cocky, overconfident and sassy 16 year old.
Alicia is a shy, timid and extremely self-conscious 16 year old.
And both are the same character! I am playing her from Verso’s Ending where the canvas has been destroyed and she’s back in reality while all the canvas’s creations have been Gommaged for good. I’ve made a minor adjustment for her. Unlike the circumstances of her canonpoint, she will be able to speak thanks to the Aurora. Albeit, it sounds like raspy gasps and is quite painful, but she’s a trooper. She’ll be fine. Honestly, why no one in canon has figured out she could learn sign language is beyond me.

Despite all the shit she’s been through, she’s very unaccustomed to being on her own so anticipate her needing some hand holding. Especially in this kind of environment. There’s a lot working against her. ~~This is me not so subtly saying Send Help.~~

Also just a big thank you to everyone who put up with me and the brat on the TDM. I tried to make sure to message people before tagging out because spoilers and everyone was really nice about it so thank you muchly ♥ c:

I actually tagged you very briefly with Gustave on the Somnia tdm before deciding Somnia wasn't for me, so happy to see you here in Sing! I'm Lorna and I play two wildly different Canadians: Wynonna Earp from Syfy's Wynonna Earp and Benton Fraser from the somewhat niche 1994 show Due South. Fraser is a Mountie and will want to be helpful to the newbie! Wynonna's kind of a dick and won't be as helpful, but has a soft spot for girls who are Important to the Narrative (she has a little sister).

Hi! I'm just seeing everyone below my own post because I went "oh, god, oh no, I took more than 30 seconds" and then forgot to refresh.

I'm also brand new to the game but wanted to say hi -- I came very close to tagging Maelle with Teddy here and decided maybe you had enough tags by the point I TL'd, lol.

Not sure if the first part is still a spoiler - the very end is tho

Teddy does actually know some sign language! It rarely comes up in RP so I forget to even put it anywhere as a skill (though if I had a nickel, etc -- they've been in game with Wrench from Fargo before and used it then). They aren't fluent the way someone who's Deaf and signs, or an interpreter, would be (or even especially close to that level), but they're still decent at it. They took it in school and continue to teach themselves (much more slow a process) to help communicate with certain folks at home who have job-related hearing loss. Teddy learned and passed it back down the line because that was the easiest way to do it, those resources didn't exist at home. So they're not unfamiliar with sharing what they know: mostly basic vocabulary (with some random holes, and some really, really over-specialized things they ...totally had to just look up.)
So, if you're interested in communication being a little easier and less painful intermittently, that could be a thing? Teddy also uses a different form of hand signing with their service dog, which, though it's not the same as ASL, is evident and could be an in.

Not at all a requirement, idk if Maelle is stubborn enough to not want that, but the comment made me think!

Teddy's about 10 years older, but I feel like she'd be concerned enough to be curious and also just kind of relate to being ...tbh both self-conscious and anxious, and acting cocky and overconfident, particularly as a teenager (with some quite obvious gaps in lived experience). Except for the cold she IS very used to being on her own and in a rural area, and is unlikely to treat Maelle like a kid; I'd be happy to throw these two at each other anyway for just ordinary survival. Or both of them being out of their league with weird shit happening, haha.

(I haven't played Clair Obscur -- tho the sheer influx of characters from it around places like Plurk and bakerstreet have definitely left an impression -- but tbh, at the rate I'm getting to any "to watch/read/play" stuff lately, I'm gonna say it's ...better to be spoiled than avoid CR and hope :P Some of my favorite video games (and fandoms generally) have come out of getting attached via RP, deciding I needed to get into the canon, and crying through scenes I knew were coming (*looks meaningfully at The Last of Us*).

Hi everyone! I’m Devi and some of y’all might remember me from playing Jessica Hamby, the baby vampire who lived in a box about a year ago. I have come back with Senshi, a dwarf who is a survivalist extraordinaire and monster admirer. He comes with a very large cooking pot, a special kitchen knife, and ten rolls of dragon ham. He’s also can be considered a health nut and he WILL care the young ones. Unfortunately he can’t tell ages from other non-dwarf races very well so his definition of children will include people 25 and up. Sorry about that. He’s so daddy.

Senshi comes from the very beginning of episode 13 where he’s been preparing 10 rolls of red dragon ham. Eventually he’s going to make a cook out with it as he love to feed people monster meals. As far as tagging speeds I come from slow to I-forgot-and-need-reminding. I’m in a very slow process of moving homes so I get very spent but I do try to bounce back!
