Welcome to Singillatim!
Glad you could be here! We hope you have a great time here in the Quiet Apocalypse. Don't lose too many fingers, this weather bites. Hey! I go by Xil and I’m coming back to DW RP with A. Rama Raju, a character from the movie RRR. He’s spent most of his life ignoring things he might want in favor of what the people around him need him to be and spent the last four years trying to suppress his conscience long enough to do enough terrible things to impress the right powerful people, so I’m hoping to explore the effects of that kind of repression and to explore how Raju might approach the idea of acquaintances and friendship in this strange new world without his lifelong driving purpose where he (probably) doesn’t even have to impress anybody.

I’ve only played him in his canon setting so far so I’m pretty excited to throw him into the wonderful chaos of a panfandom game where anybody could meet anybody, and to stretch my writing muscles by plopping him into such a new environment. Messaging me on this account is fine - I have a plurk (xiilnek) but I haven't used it in years.

NO idea how he's going to get along with Huaisang here, who is the younger son of an ... ancient chinese wizard-warlord(?), and absolutely desperate to avoid Responsibility or Effort of any kind.

It's exciting to meet someone who's into RRR too, it's such an exciting movie. We should absolutly look for opportunities to have the topic of responsibility come up, Raju has Opinions.

huaisang strongly supports Raju doing responsibility things that's very brave and heroic of him and huaisang will cheer him on from the safety of Hiding Behind Him

XD enabling Raju's main character syndrome is all well and good but Huaisang, you've got to do some of this too buddy, up up up

no ups!!!! listen he's helping by staying behind and keeping the fires burning and also he knows a little field medicine so he can triage when people come in injured it's FINE

huaisang's also been hunting! he has experience trapping birds, so there's that!! (but he's only ever done live capture and can't bear to actually kill any of them raju pls can you snap this bird's neck while huaisang looks away.)

Hello! I'm Jhey, welcome to the game (and back to DW RP!) I'm canonblind, but I have one (1) Victorian-era naval officer from the horror canon The Terror here, who I think could be fun to toss at your guy. Edward has also dealt with a lot of Repression and Living Just For His Purpose (which in his case was his job as The Terror's first lieutenant, trying to keep his humanity and be a Proper Englishman while everything around him was falling apart on a doomed expedition into the Arctic.) His crew was stuck in the ice for three years, so it's been a long-term thing for him, too....

It could be potentially really interesting to explore these kind of themes with Raju, since it sounds like they have some same-but-opposite things going on, with Raju doing terrible things and Edward refusing to do terrible things but both having some undesirable effects on them.... aka "being what people need me to be" and how that can really wear on a guy :')

But yes! That's just me spitballing some thoughts, but I'd love to just see how they might interact sometime, so I'm looking forward to doing things with you in game!

Oooh I love that a lot, I’d definitely love to explore that with them. Depending on what kind of terrible things Edward objects to, this setting might give us plenty of opportunities to put them in a position where they have to decide which one of them has to do something awful and make it impossible for them not to talk about it.

Yeah! It sounds like there's definitely a lot of fun Moral Discomforts / What's Necessary for Survival themes to explore, and I bet the setting could be utilised for that at some point, for sure. Looking forward to it! :)

Same, I’m really looking forward to getting these two together! The Terror sounds like a blast, if I can use that word to describe something that also seems very sad. Like it seems like there’s a lot of interesting stuff going on.

Welcome!! Raju seems super well adjusted and would probably do well meeting Louis, another super well adjusted dude (vampire) with no problems or repression or violent past whatsoever. Nothing but wholesome times.

XD I love it, they can be completely and totally well adjusted together. Maybe the repression or violent pasts they don't have can rear their ugly heads somehow.
