Hi, Sing peeps! New player Carly here with a new character and am excited to officially be joining the game! Lanfear is from The Wheel of Time — most notably, the recent television adaptation, but I've also leaned on the books for any relevant backstory or other plot details that transpire before where she's introduced in the second season. She's one of the thirteen ancient magic wielders notoriously known as the Forsaken, who swore their allegiance to her world's Dark One in exchange for various things (for Lanfear in particular, it was to not only gain power but the affection of her ex-lover, aka the Dragon, who ditched her for his wife, what a loser). Ultimately, said ex sealed her away (along with the Dark One and all the other Forsaken) for thousands of years, where she existed in a dreamless sleep until she was set free more recently to wreak havoc. Also, her ex is now reincarnated in the form of a different person, and Lanfear has her sights set on not only making the Dragon Reborn fall in love with her but also turning him to the dark side.
For the purposes of her arrival in-game, she'll be operating under the alias she initially uses in Season 2 before her identity is uncovered — Selene, an unassuming innkeeper who clearly has no evil intentions whatsoever, and certainly no ulterior motives about getting her power back. (Have I mentioned she's very unhappy about not having access to her abilities?) Stripped of those, she'll be looking for people she can lean on/seduce/otherwise manipulate to get her what she needs in the meantime, and trying to remain on her best behavior so she doesn't arouse any suspicion about who she really is.

I'm canonblind to Lanfear but she sounds super intriguing! Also this sounds like it's all going to go well for her, absolutely!! jkfghdfjkg

oh, she's SUPER happy (read: not) about not having her power right now, but that just means she'll have to use other strengths at her disposal!

Sorry Lanfear, guess you're just gonna have to be MAD ABOUT IT. At least the anger might keep you warm :')

manipulate his way into good standingmake a good impression on the locals, so perhaps there's an opportunity for synergy in goals here.no subject

I really like slow burn reveals of true natures. I'm guessing Lanfear's reveal will be much slower than Lestat's, since his ex is in town making a thing about it, which could be juicy. We'll see how it plays out - mostly I'm excited for more beautiful, terribly misunderstood and underappreciated people.

honestly, it might even be the kind of thing where she reveals herself to him first/earlier on than some other people, but they can definitely tangle together and see what shakes out!

Looking forward to it - also laughed at the icon symmetry here. Wickedness can be fun AND stylish!

I'm definitely planning on making her reveal as a baddie sort of a slow burn, so she'll be playing the long game with her identity for a bit! either way, I'd love to see how she gets on with Rorschach!

I have two... obscure horror guys (I GUESS THAT'S MY BRAND): Lieutenant Edward Little from The Terror (Victorian naval officer who is trying his hardest to Keep Order around here but is incredibly easy to manipulate~) and Commander Konstantin Veshnyakov from Sputnik (cosmonaut who comes with a gnarly alien parasite that he picked up while in space). I would love to toss them her way sometime, see how things shake out!!

honestly, as someone who enjoyed The Terror greatly and am absolutely canonblind to your cosmonaut, I'd love to bounce Lanfear off of either of these guys (or both)! anyone she can appeal to in her seemingly harmless lady form (considering that she's also pretty harmless without her magic at the moment) to help her out around these chilly parts

I also think she and Wynonna will make for really interesting CR! Wynonna will just be happy there are finally some more women around t b h
no subject
yes! fun fact: I played Wynonna myself when I first came back to DWRP after a long hiatus, so I love seeing her every now and then! just like being reunited with an old friend! Selene will pretend to be nice at least, but who knows? maybe the Earp heir will win her over

I play Francis Crozier from The Terror, which has oddly become the biggest cast here? He's a sad, sad man, but is making sure everyone's getting food, clothes, etc. before retreating back to his bachelor igloo.
no subject
and look, sometimes a sad man might need a little company every once in a while — at the very least she needs to check out this igloo though! (not a euphemism)

Come on over and check out my igloo, wiiiiiink
