yo! This is Kates (the player of Cornelius Hickey / friendsfordinner ) and I'm bringing in yet another goddamn LIAR of a man. This is Alexander Hilbert from the podcast Wolf 359. He's a grumpy Russian spaceman who's spent the past few years doing multiple tour of duties upon a poorly maintained and horrifically understaffed space station. He has an aggressive accent, a voice that just got deeper and deeper every season, at least two fake names, a body count that's probably in the double digits, and a personality that's just this meme. He's a medical doctor and does want to help people but hey, aurora, you took him away from his favorite ethically nonexistent horrific virus project, what gives???

Konstantin is so thrilled to have someone else in this very exclusive club and I cannot wait for inevitable Awkwardness as more is revealed about each other's situations.... uh oh comrades one of us is a lab rat and one of us experiments on lab rats! One of us is the posterchild of The New Soviet Man and the other defected from the Soviet Union!

I also think it could be suuuuper fun if Kostya's alien situation is ever revealed to Hillbert. He does have an X-ray with him in game of this thing inside his guts.... and he very much eventually needs A Doctor to check in with. Surely he won't end up as a lab rat again, right...

poor Kostya is just SO DAMN LUCKY that the medical situation here is low-tech at best. our horrible creepy examinations aren't gonna be as horrible and creepy as they could be back home.

Hilbert's questionable examinations... I'm laughing that Kostya is so far lowkey fanboying about him, he's an Older Russian Man with Future Space Experience! Teach him everything you've learned, grumpy senpai....

I was thinking that at some point he'd definitely want to ask Hilbert if he'd ever heard of the infamous mission he was on when his unfortunate alien situation happened and his shuttle crashed to Earth... and he would tell him it was from 1983, so that could be a fun way to get some of that knowledge out there.... oops, he's from the USSR Era... lil bit awk!

it'll only get more awk when Hilbert casually mentions a nuclear meltdown that happened in his canon but whoops, hasn't happened elsewhere! both of them looking at each other like "whaaaaat the hell"

that "technically I defected" angle is gonna be kept SUPER DUPER QUIET, just keep asking nerdy questions about space instead
