What's up everyone!! I'm Ricks and I'm a compulsive Kirk collector. Over the past ten years I've played several versions of him so it was inevitable that when I watched Strange New Worlds, I was going to pick up Kirk. One of the Kirks. (There are three to choose from in that show alone. It knows what I need.)

So! I bring you Captain James T. Kirk— more specifically, the version from the S2 episode "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow". This Jim comes from an alternate reality where Khan is murdered when he's just a kid, so the Eugenics Wars never happen, planet Earth ends up being devastated by wars (and probably climate change too lbr) and is uninhabitable at his point in time. Survivors settled on underground colonies on Luna, and since then they've branched out to a few other planets and moons. Humanity's part of United Earth instead of the Federation, and they're currently at war with the Romulans.

Jim was born on a ship, the USS Iowa, and has never been to Earth. That is, until La'an Noonien-Singh lands on his reality (more specifically, his ship, the UEF Enterprise) and they're both transported back to 2022 to stop Khan's murder, thus correcting the timeline. This, of course, means Jim's own reality ceases to exist. But before that, he goes and gets himself shot. So, he's been brought here like three seconds before he dies from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Funnily enough, he and La'an were in Toronto just moments before he woke up here, and Milton is about 30 minutes away. He's going to realize soon that it holds little relevance, considering everyone else comes from all kinds of realities out there, but there's gonna be a bit of a 'huh' moment. Anyway, he's here to survive, help everyone else survive, ignore the fact he's no longer going to exist the moment he leaves this place and mourn the death of his not-quite-girlfriend La'an.

He's got a permissions post on his journal, as well as his app if anyone's curious for more details about him. Or just go watch the episode, it's great and it pretty much stands on its own.

PS: Regarding TDM threads! from what I understand (but correct me if I'm wrong), only the arrival threads can be considered game canon. I'm happy to roll with that, even if it might take some fudging in terms of timeline or whatever, we can handwave minor changes so Jim doesn't have like four different "where am I" arrival scenarios. But please let me know if you'd rather not treat our thread as game canon, so we can scrap that and start fresh!

You already know I'm so glad you apped Jim #212 to this game, so let me just say: yay. I'm eager to see what fun and exciting ways you find to torment challenge him here.

And yes please to keeping our thread canon! Daisy and Jim have so many similarities to their stories that her conspiracy theory mind is running on overtime to try to figure this place out, and that's too much fun to pass up. And I would love to toss these two together more if you're up for it, because your writing is exquisite and you have this Jim down perfectly.

I'm always here to provide more Kirk, in all kinds of flavors. At least this one is nicer than the mirror version? But this is great, and I'm sure Jim is going to get along great with Peter.

hi! i'd love to keep kirk and levi's thread canon, but its cool if you dont want kirk to have to have dealt with your friend is dead and was here for months yet.

Hello! Actually I'd love to keep it, I prefer that he knows about La'an's death as early on as possible so their thread works great for that. Definitely up for starting something new with them though!

Hey there Ricks, I'm Jhey and welcome to the game! I have two horror guys here: Edward Little from The Terror, and Konstantin Veshnyakov from the movie Sputnik. I think Konstantin could be really interesting cr with Jim, since he's also a space commander / a cosmonaut from the early 1980's! He would be delighted to meet more Spacemen and especially ones from his future with all the nifty futuristic information. Personality-wise, I think they could vibe too; Konstantin is kind of like a Russian Kirk lmao with the whole ~charming commander lil bit himbo energy going on... He also comes with a gnarly alien parasite he freshly became host to and is desperate for any potential information on, so! Kirk could be a good brain to pick about Alien Fuckery..

And Edward did know the La'an who was here in game, and was forming a bit of a Lieutenant Team-up with her before her death / has been extremely affected by her loss. She also left him her Starfleet badge, so that could be extremely interesting to potentially come up around Jim... :')

Hello! Both of these sound like very interesting CR and I'm down for all of it. Knowing La'an was partnering with Edward then he'll be much likelier to trust him to some degree, so it's a good start. I'm thinking of putting up a sticky note on the message board about meeting anyone who knew La'an, maybe that'd work for them to meet!

Howdy howdy! I'm Chase, I play Heartman from Death Stranding and Holland March from the Nice Guys and I'm currently 3 episodes away from being caught up completely on SNW and have started binging Lower Decks. I'm excited you're here, poor Kirk is really coming at the worst possible time for him re: La'an. : ' )

Speaking of, I noticed he's looking for people that knew her. March wasn't that close but he'd definitely seek Kirk out to touch base, if you're cool with me throwing up a closed starter in the near future about that? Heartman's definitely into talking to people used to higher tech + coming from other post apocalyptic worlds, too.

YEAH Jim's having a great fun time around here. The upside (???) is that there's so much going on, it's guaranteed to keep him busy.

Also, feel free to have March poke around, Jim totally gets being nosy, and it won't bother him much. Probably. He's not especially reserved about things, and he can understand being curious. Actually, just throw everyone at him, he's very sociable.
