I don't have an issue with priests themselves, only their push of God on anyone they happen to see. There's a line between spreadin' the good word and beatin' people with it.

There is a thin between the two, I admit. Is that why you would to be priest, then? To show a better way?

No. [He half laughs the word out.] No, the priesthood was never somethin' that I would see myself doin'. Not sure what I would do if I weren't a Marshal, to be honest.

Then it is your lie. Being a priest was not your interest at all.

I admit I feel somewhat disappointed.

I don't know. Perhaps I thought we might share in some things, like faith.

I think there are much better things to share in, Lyanna. We might share in opinion of justice, or in the opinion that people have a right to live in peace without bein' tormented, or that the air is better in spring and apples are crunchier for the fall they're picked in. That stars are still beautiful and full of mystery.

Since I very much doubt anyone here knows too much about baseball.
