Oh! Right, right, time traveler. Time and space, that is. I don't care to limit myself. Fifteenth century, nineteenth century, fiftieth century, twenty-third day of the last moon phase on Proxima Centauri — that's me all over!

[ Oh, shit. Kieren doesn't disbelieve him, because he's a zombie and they're all here with weird shit going on. So like... why not time travellers? It doesn't seem that weird of a thing, in the grand scheme of things. ]

So you... you travelled in time and became friends with Vincent Van Gogh—?

You might say being his friend was just a lovely bonus as to why I was there in the first place.

[ A story, oh quite the story for another time... ]

He was a sensitive chap. Brilliant. You know, I've seen...oh, many things across the universe in my time, but nothing quite as wonderful as what he saw. And what you see, when you look at what he brought to the world from his own mind. You see the beauty in it, which notches you up in my book.

I'm really glad you got to meet him, that you were his friend. ... It feels like he was never appreciated that much in his own lifetime.

His portraits are my favourite. What he did with colour despite everything was— [ He takes a breath. ] but I love his portraits most. It's why I paint portraits a lot.
