Character Name: James Fitzjames
Canon: The Terror (2018)
Residence: A cabin near the middle of town; I haven't put it on the spreadsheet since he'll probably move soon-ish.
Notable CR: The other Terrors, Raju, Kate, Prior, and Randvi are the people he's spoken with most, but he's met a few others so far as well!
Skills: He has a broad variety of useful and not-so-useful skills, but of particular note:

Firearms/Weaponry - Trained specifically as a gunnery lieutenant, he has both practical and theoretical knowledge of weapons from his time, which sort of carries over to the more modern guns here. He's an excellent shot, and very confident with guns in general. Also canons, though there aren't any of those around ~~yet?~~
Rocketry - As a part of the above but warranting its own section, he's particularly talented at using rockets, especially congreves.
Swimming - He's a very strong swimmer, even in fast-moving or cold waters.
Languages - It doesn't do him much good here, but he speaks several languages, including English, French, Portuguese, and Arabic.

Aurora Feat: Nothing ~~and he's a little jealous of others' powers.~~

Wanted CR: Friends! People that think he's annoying! Complicated relationships, actual enemies, etc etc I'm here for it all.
Unwanted CR: Nothing in particular, though I don't write much romance (but I'm not against it if it evolves naturally.)

Day to Day: He hasn't been super active the past few months due to a combination of being very unwell and then also overdoing it during things like the Forest Talker attack. But he's nearly healed now, so despite the polar night he's starting to be out and about more; in particular he spends time exploring, foraging, and maybe attempting a little hunting despite the darkness.

The Story So Far / Plans: Healing has taken up most of his time and attention, and so has repressing The Horrors. Although he's adjusting to life in Milton easily enough when it comes to practicalities, he's having a very difficult time figuring out what he's actually doing here, and will definitely be channeling this into something healthy and productive. Currently he's busy worrying about the bear tracks, but in the future (after the sun returns, and depending what happens next event) he's interested in trying to find a way beyond Milton and Lakeside, even if that involves something ridiculously dangerous like climbing a mountain or crossing a river. This is doubtlessly doomed to fail, but if anyone else is interested in doing the same, there could be fun CR opportunity there.

how would you feel about getting some more cr with me that doesn't have the awkward baggage that exists with billy.. 👀

i'm mostly asking because i know fitzjames is very interested in the bear tracks, and bigby is very interested in them too, so i thought it might be a fun opportunity for them to meet and talk about it! bigby could even tell them about other cases of Weird Wildlife they've had around town before, considering how long he's been here already.

Oooooh I do love James and Billy's awkward CR but I would also love to see how he and Bigby get along! James would be definitely interested in other weird wildlife in addition to not-Tuunbaq, so I'm here for this idea; I'm planning to put up an open log hopefully soon-ish (but you know the struggle) with a toplevel for bear tracks stuff so that might an easy place to do a thread?

Gosh I apologise for falling off with things, but I would love to do something fresh with Fitzjames sometime soon, if you'd like! Maybe Ned could accompany him with some bear tracking, or on one of those future treks? Play Guard Dog... he's been craving this lately... (and in his case, he can be a literal dog.. if needed... might be an interesting time for him to reveal his own powers here!)

I'd say that hey, at least they can commiserate, but that'd require talking about feelings instead of pretending they're fine so you know. Alas.

And yes definitely! I'm up for anything, from investigating the bear tracks to just being out exploring or foraging or WHATEVER; there's all sorts of reasons they could either decide to go together or run into each other accidentally while out and about (and accidentally would be an easy way to bring in the wolf thing, if Edward wouldn't just outright admit to it, though however that's revealed James is gonna be jealous. Why does everyone else get to be a wolf???)

What even is talking about feelings? We don't know her!! But oh my god, them accidentally bumping into each other could be really funny and interesting at the same time, since Ned is highly ashamed of his wolfish capability... he miiiight view it as a punishment he fully deserves instead of a useful gift! The most miserable werewolf the land has ever seen..... But it would be a good chance for him to be forced a bit to address some of that with James, whom he is still so set on making a good impression in front of :'D

Lol they're so stupid I love them and I love this idea. Poor Ned's so ashamed of the wolf thing and worried about looking bad and James is just like HEY why does everyone get to have powers but ME I wanna be a wolf >:c The dichotomy.

You juuuust missed the boat (pun intended) on wolf powers Sir, but you might have your chance sometime in the future for them!! The prettiest wolf this land has ever seen.... It'll be so funny to see Ned react to James not wigging out so much about it, though. It might even teach him some chill about it! If Commander Fitzjames himself doesn't think it's so terrible.... maybe it isn't.....

I was going to make a joke about him being a wolf with long wavy brown fur, and then got to google image searching, and realized there are Iberian wolves native to Portugal and it's just a little too perfect ~~maybe I WILL give him moontouched whenever it comes back around as an option...~~

He will definitely be encouraging!!! And sure, James is not always the best gauge for approval = actually good thing, but in this case maybe it is. There's definitely worse things that could happen than being able to turn into a wolf!

I love how Ned does take his opinion of everything SO seriously, so it might really help his self-perception there. Accept it, Ned.... be the dog you were always meant to be....

I absolutely would love for Fraser and Fitzjames to meet up again! Fraser so enjoyed talking with him during that one Aurora... he would also be a great option for someone to assist in Fitzjames' hikes to the edges of the Known Lands.

And of course I'd love for Wynonna, who has gotten entangled with a bunch of the Terrors, to meet him!

Yes for sure! I'm up for all of this, and I love the idea of Fraser being a part of team exploration.

For Wynonna, since James is in Lakeside fretting about the bear tracks, there's the easy excuse of him stopping by where she and Jopson live, either to check in on Jopson and end up running into Wynonna instead, or we could even do a three-person thread potentially (unless I'm totally misremembering that they live together, in which case, ignore me); I'm here for whatever. c:

She does live with Jopson in Lakeside, you are correct! I think it would be so funny for James to show up looking for Thomas but finding Wynonna instead... plus she would want to check out the bear tracks, too, so there's always the chance she'd tag along!

Sliding in days late with coffee now that the holidays are (mostly) over and I am trying to exist again in RP and in life. I'd love for more CR with James and Zoey somehow. She would absolutely be here for attempting to find a way beyond Milton and Lakeside. (She's been mapping out the area on a wall in the house she claimed as her own.) Or if he wants a couple wolf friends, she has the shapeshifting into a wolf power and a wolf pup. IDK. Something!

I am also very late... So late the new event info and plotting for that is up... But yes we could definitely do something especially with new prompts to work with!
