OOC INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Singillatim!
Glad you could be here! We hope you have a great time here in the Quiet Apocalypse. Don't lose too many fingers, this weather bites. Feel free to use this post to introduce yourself and your character and get to know your fellow players! Once you're accepted into the communities, feel free to start posting!

Man, I love your writing style so I am glad you joined. My apologies for being so late with the TDM (which I'd be more than glad to continue now that I'm working on my backlog of tags)- Astarion can't really be of much help with Konstantin's current favorite activities, he's not exactly a sweet and lovely man.

If you want to be assisted I'm... positive my other character, Erichthonios, would be more inclined to help. At least by sharing what he has and looking for help from someone who knows how bodies work. He also has a Difficult Relationship with his dad so he'd probably be... extremely supportive of his goals, should he decide to share, but also try to make im reason?

No worries at all!!! I've been running slowly myself and perpetually live in Backtag Land, so I'd be happy to continue that thread out a bit, or roll with the assumption they helped each other to town and hit you up for something newer when the event drops.

And I'd be very happy to toss him at your other guy, too! Konstantin will probably be mentioning his son a bit, so it would be interesting to see how interactions might pan out. I'm looking forward to exploring it no matter what!

Whatever you prefer! Astarion will need/needed some time to thaw during our intro thread anyway so if you want to just meet during the event I can poke you there assuming Astarion was just.... wary. In general. Or I can hit you there again. I will only have free time in 4-5 hours though.

Gods... Erich comes from a culture where parent-children bonds aren't that strong and he's considered the odd ball for caring so much about it (He had a very difficult relationship with his father. Much hatred to hide the hurt and things started to mend only right before their world started to fall apart) so he'd be like 'omg, a true dad' and be all in support of him. He'd probably get a bit emotional over that, too.

I'm totally fine letting it go! We could definitely assume it was a Weird, Awkward journey finding their way back to town... Konstantin, bleeding from the mouth and hobbling his way in, Astarion just So Wary......

Oh gosh that would be so good and so sad to explore! The irony is that Konstantin actually is a Failed Father of his own... He was abandoned by his dad as a child so he has Daddy Issues of his own, and then ended up inadvertently abandoning the 7-year-old son he didn't know about until very recently.... So he is very much eaten up with guilt and feeling like he perpetuated the cycle of neglect. He doesn't actually know how to be a dad, and I think has always kind of feared it, but he was trying to make it right and return to his son right before tragic canon events happened... :') And then he ended up here! All this to say, it sounds like there's a lot of fun sad themes to explore with these two, I'm so here for it!

Yeah! Please don't mind him them staring at that poor man's mouth in a very unsettling way because all that blood.... wasted. I'm sorry, my mind went full awkward there because Astarion would see that and be like 'mh. Yummy'.

Don't judge! Everyone is eating in the community hall and as far as I know there will be only one person looking like, ah, an actual snack. I wouldn't blame him for wanting nothing to do with the elf, tbh.

And... huh.. that's so sad. I feel bad for him AND the kid. Sometimes people just don't know better and sometimes they don't know at all. I think Erich would... try to comfort him, though? In his case he's the son and his people are basically godlike entities in his era. His dad is one of the 12 most influential people on the planet, an incedibly strong magic user, and his mom the most brilliant scientist of the facility they work in. He... was born basically without the special powers of his kin. (That or his mom's experiments on him stripped him of those, we never have a clear answer). Without going into too many details: dad 'abandoned' him in the facility he was born into after his mother disappeared (she was experimenting on Erich. Dad found out, killed her to protect Erich and their planet, then threw himself into his work after iterally breaking his soul in two and rejecting his emotional part) and he was raised by his dad's coworkers for the rest. Let's say that some years later that caused a lot of problems and we see Erich hating his very distant father, having no self esteem and being overly devoted to his people, to the point that when his father shows up in the middle of a facility... 'issue'? Erich antagonizes him. It takes a lot of time for them to actually reach some understanding and by the end Erich is actually... eager to work with his father once more? He still addresses him by title but it's the small steps that matter. Erich comes shortly after that. Like your man, he was also about to die, because in canon their world ends shortly after the facility's events so that was something. He still has a lot of unresolved dad issues and he'd... at least try to let him know that even if sometimes you think you can't repair things, there is always room to make amend and blah blah.

Sorry, talking too much, but yeah. Erich has a lot of feelings about 'dads'. He'd cling to that man's hopes and try to fuel them to give him something to look forward to like it's a personal matter for him.

Konstantin definitely will have no room to judge!! His alien passenger has a taste for blood/brains and he's going to have to keep it fed here... Could be interesting cr potential with a vampire, since he's brand-new to the art of Feeding From Things and is going to be really angsty about it!

And ugggh yeah it's Complicated for sure, sad highfive for "it's messy" when it comes to parental backgrounds / relationships.... It sounds like Konstantin could potentially hit upon a sore spot for Erich, with the whole "neglectful father" aspect, even if he didn't mean to and is desperately trying to remedy it. He even views his alien possession as punishment for failing his son. I definitely think it would be really fun to see how he and Erich do, with all of these themes!

Well, Astarion's brain is a bit stale, he's been undead for 200 years so no snacking there, mh? But yes, it'd be a wonderful things to experiment with- Astarion's morality is very... grey and he comes from a good aligned group so he's not the worst he could be.

Yeah. Honestly Erich is a rather compassionate person, he's extremely dutiful and all but he got to understand his dad's actions in the end. I think it'd bring up conflicting feelings, yes, but unlike Astarion? Erich is a good person or so he tries to be. He... knows his father did mean well and just didn't know better, at least at this point in canon, so he would probably.... I don't know? honestly I don't know, depends on how he learns about Konstantin's story. It's a sensitive topic.
