Canon: Sputnik
Note: This character comes with a parasitic alien entity that he unwillingly became host to while on a space mission... There is more information here on the alien, how the setting affects/nerfs parts of its functioning, and a link to more detailed warnings + an opt out, if anyone needs it!
Residence: In a small, one-person cabin on the outskirts of town, with Vasiliy Yegorovich Ardankin. And a little grouse farm they'll be starting... to give Konstantin something to do and also to feed to his alien
Notable CR: Housemate, Bedmate, Fellow Comrade, Caretaker of Konstantin & His Alien: Vasiliy Ardankin; some Teenage Boys he's been wanting to keep an eye on: Levi Jordan, Kieren Walker, Tobi; he's on amicable terms with Randvi, Renny Oldoak, and Chloe Frazer (a little awkward because he threw up blood on her once); frequently toted back to Vasiliy's when he makes Escape Attempts by Benton Fraser
Skills: As a Commander of the Cosmonaut Corps, Konstantin is well-accustomed to the role of leadership, and also has experience with the extremely vigorous physical and mental training required for both military and cosmonaut preparation. He also has much knowledge of space science and technology, and plenty of experience being in confined environments. He's also extremely good with people, being a model of "social excellence" where he's from and regarded as the Exemplary Soviet Man

Wanted CR:

young folks — Kostya comes with heaping doses of Daddy Issues (having been abandoned by his own father as a child, being terrified to ever be a father himself, and ending up inadvertently abandoning his own 7-year-old son, whom he is now desperate to rescue from an orphanage)... I'd love for him to meet and inevitably get attached to some youngsters, for all the angsty guilty fun feelings. I'm down to explore anything organically, but in the long-term I'd love for him to develop some Dadly Feelings.... (Alternatively, if anyone were to dad him, that would also be a really interesting cr angle!)

fellow 'monsters' — Konstantin is regarded as a Hero back where he's from (80's Soviet Russia, literally, he has a medal....) and now deals with themes such as being a fallen hero, being a monster, "if the thing inside me feeds on humans, does that also make me A Cannibal & Murderer", etc.... In Singillatim, he will be keeping it satisfied with the brains/blood of animals, but that in itself will be very difficult for him to grapple with! I'd love to explore his newfound journey of "being a Monster" with other characters who might have experience or angsts with this kind of thing.

misc. things — folks around his own age (39); fellow folks from the 80's; fellow people with Suicide / I Shouldn't Still Be Alive themes; other Parents he could get to know (especially meaningful as he's someone who never identified as A Parent until very recently and doesn't know what to make of such a role); medical people (he comes with an undiscovered alien species, could be fun Talk???); people he can Casually & Innocently Flirt With; people to chat about outer space or science-y things with; he's frequently Sick and Throwing Up Blood, so that could also be worked with; general "exploring the town / searching for information / a way out" shenanigans if anyone wants to join (or catch him); if anyone might want to meet his alien face to face sometime that could be a fun thing (y-yeah he.... hacks it up), although it won't be emerging as often here and would require a good deal of plotting, since he's making a lot of effort to keep it away from anyone; seeing how the alien reacts to his various cr is also always fun, given that it's sensitive to his physiological reactions (if he has positive experiences with someone then it would be more attached to them, if someone upsets him then it'd be aggressive towards them, etc...)

Unwanted CR:

romance — While Kostya can be an enormous flirt, he's not going to be letting it get further than anything surface level / friendly / "safe". He's also married to Vasiliy (platonically.... right? right? it's possible to platonically share a bed, men do it all the time). Currently has no idea that Vasya is crushing extremely hard on him.

Day to Day: Kostya sticks pretty close to home, due to his Alien Situation and also a lingering paranoia that he'll be found and recaptured by the scientists & military who were using him as an experiment. He's been dealing with a lot of "Feeling Useless" angsts, but starting up the little grouse farm will help a bit with that.... He can often be found taking walks / jogging in attempt to stay in shape, and exploring the town but trying to stay lowkey about it. He's also been trying to learn about the various people here and where they're from... try to draw some patterns or connections. On Aurora Nights he's often out trying to work with the technology that temporarily functions, and he's been bringing back various pieces of technology such as car, phone, & computer parts to tinker with.... trying to see what he can do with them

The Story So Far / Plans:

• still pretty new to Milton, so he's been trying to adjust.... recovering as best as he can from being brought back from a fatal gunshot wound to the gut, but also dealing with the fact His Worm can't heal him here and that his own condition is Consistently Bad
• having to learn how to feed the parasite himself, which has been a difficult & messy process. Wormy has his own struggles
• in January, Konstantin dealt with the Milton House Memory / rescuing the little boys along with Benton Fraser, an experience that affected him deeply due to his own Son Guilt
• has been bumping into a few other people Feeding on Animals in Violent Ways, like Bigby Wolf and Kieren Walker
• attended the grand opening party for the general store / toplevel here!
• smiling through The Horrors and probably due for a mental breakdown ab it

I gotta find a way to throw Wynonna at Kostya sometime because... with his particular brand of charm I think she would strongly dislike him right off the bat and that might be funny to work with! Also she would be extremely WTF at him throwing up blood and having an alien parasite. Plus, she's got that whole 'monster hunter' deal and he's a Monster, so! Fun conflict!

Please let Fraser nerd out about grouse and bird husbandry at him, p l e a s e. He'd be so fascinated by the farm!

Oh my god that would be hilarious, I'm so here for it and I can absolutely see his Brand of Charm getting on her nerves immediately.... Konstantin flashing a million-watt smile at her while complimenting her eyes or smth and Wynonna just "yeah no"
And ohhh man that would be such a fun angle to explore, I would LOVE that! 👀 Very much here for monster conflictions, Wynonna Earp vs. one alien parasite......

And that is so adorable, please we have to.... come see the farm, Fraser!!! Kostya is also going to be trying to learn how to cook / prepare the remaining parts of the grouse / other things he could forage from around this place... if that's a thing that Fraser might could teach him a thing or two about! He has to find a way to be useful to his housemate, time for Mr. Space Hero to learn some wilderness survival skills...

You know how I love to irritate her, so obviously I'm 1000% down for this! Just don't antagonize wormy too much, Wynonna... please don't get eaten.

And Fraser can absolutely help with that! He's all about using all the parts of various animals and he's great with foraging. He would love to help them make the Russian Grouse Farm a successful lil homestead and to teach Kostya how to make wilf grouse into a Romantic Platonic Dinner for his boyfriend housemate.

They deserve a silly little thread after all the Angsts we've put them through!!

He'll show Vasiliy what he brings back! And what he's working on... his little projects, he'll be proud of them.... even if they ultimately will never go anywhere! Stop trying, Konstantin, you can't MacGyver your way through this time...

Re: monster themes, I kind of like the idea of exploring the dichotomy of Lalo being completely human but still a completely remorseless "monster" (in that he will kill/injure/fuck up anybody he has to in order to protect himself and have NO regrets) contrasted with Kostya as a supernatural "monster" who has much more relatably human misgivings and angst about hurting people. Sort of a different way to explore the question of what actually makes somebody a monster...

Oh that is EXTREMELY interesting and I am so here for it, I love exploring concepts like this!! And seeing how it's different in different types of characters, it sounds like there's a ton of fun potential here for sure 👀 fhdh;g Lalo and The Alien Entity just handshake memeing about doing whatever it takes to protect themselves and survive.....

I absolutely need to toss him at Tim! Space Dad finding all the Sad Teenage Boys of Milton... there's such a collection of them.... I think they could be some interesting cr for sure, and it would be fun to see the difference in Konstantin's interactions vs Edward's; unlike poor Ned, he knows how to carry a conversation and likes talking to people.... actually has charisma.... isn't scared to talk about The Ladies™...

He'd definitely be intrigued by the Tech Talk and how smart Tim is, he's bumped into Damian once when he was stealing car parts (relatable activities) and he's just Wildly Impressed by these kids. He's only got early-80's knowledge but he's the disconcerting mix of "himbo who's actually extremely intelligent underneath" and he'd be hungry to learn about any more modern developments, lend Tim a hand if he ever needed it!

Ruby grew up with her dad being basically emotionally detached for a good portion of her life. She can vibe with dad issues.

Dad Issues for everyone! Oh man I would love to toss Kostya at Ruby sometime for sure. He's been collecting Sad Teenage Boys but no Sad Teenage Girls yet, which is a major crime!! I think they could be some fun cr to explore because of that whole "being a Hero of their worlds" thing, the particular weight of that.

Canon: The Terror
Residence: Currently, a modest, sad little cabin on the outskirts of town, although he can be found staying at Thomas Jopson's cabin sometimes (also on the outskirts of town)
Notable CR: A handful of frosty canonmates and much associated drama: Francis Crozier, Thomas Jopson, Harry Goodsir, Cornelius Hickey, William Gibson; a gaggle of young people he's taken to Nannying: Kate Marsh, Kieren Walker, Levi Jordan, Tim Drake(?); he has an unidentifiable companionship(?) slash ongoing team-up situation with Wynonna Earp; he's found some notable Officer Kinship with Bigby Wolf and Benton Fraser; he has high opinions of Milton's Vampires Lestat de Lioncourt and Louis de Pointe du Lac; of course there are the Various Other Edwards (they're going to form a boy band.... not really. But they should)
Skills: Edward is a first lieutenant of the Royal Navy, and so comes with extensive training as a senior & executive officer. He was also a member of the doomed Franklin Expedition, so he's coming into this setting with some years' experience with survival horror out in the frigid Arctic (living in cramped ship quarters, having to ration dwindling supplies, and dealing with various Frozen Landscape Terrors! He also has had some encounters with a Supernatural Spooky Thing.) He also really likes Making Reports, Keeping Up With Stock, and Making Announcements. I have plans for him to learn what a clipboard is and to have his life changed by it
Aurora Feat: N/A... he's just Normal Nedward for now

Wanted CR:

folks to nanny — in his nervous but resilient way.... Edward is not a Paternal Type necessarily, more the "I have responsibility for someone and it's My Job" type, as well as "falling to the role of Reluctant Nanny / Middle Manager because I had to, as the First Lieutenant of a failing expedition". He's been embracing it more these days and actively fussing over / trying to take care of people. This could be for young folks but also anyone, really... He's a good Guard Dog in general (pathetic, but unflinching loyal)

fellow military / law enforcement types — Ned has been trying to keep order and structure in Milton as best as he can, and has already met a few people to help him do that, so I'd love to both continue developing that cr and open my arms to any new! Although as of late, he has been questioning how hard he's been holding onto "Lieutenant Little", so talks about Duty and Whatnot could be really interesting

misc. things — others from around his time (1840s) that he can vibe with; those from modern times to teach him things; those with medical experience (he's pretty much cleared of scurvy by now but comes with some lead poisoning and has been suffering the effects of that, so that's... fun); canon cr drama things (he has a good deal of canonmates here in game now, and I'm wide open to any drama / talks / etc. that could go along with that....!); always open for people to join him on his patrols sometime, he goes all over Milton

Day to Day: The very proper and dedicated Lieutenant Little is coping with finding himself in another Frozen Survival Horror Situation by trying extremely hard to fall back to what he knows best, so he can be found on a daily basis doing patrols around the town and its outskirts in his very Professional Uniform, attempting to keep order. This means he will step in if anything seems Amiss — though if something gets Too Amiss, he might start dissociating, he's totally fine. (He is not totally fine!) But he makes it a habit to try and introduce himself to as many folks as he can, and he's also put up a notice on the message board to spread the word that he's here to assist. He's also often up to busy work to help out around the town in other ways: chopping wood, taking stock of things, assisting at the Community Center regularly, and if anyone ever needs a Guard Dog to accompany them on a trek out into the wilds (or anywhere else) for some reason, he's your guy.

The Story So Far / Plans:

• was followed by a Visitor / Shadow Double through January, and that, combined with the tragic death of La'an Noonien-Singh and his own depression already getting worse over time, led him to fall into an extremely dark place; he stopped doing his patrols and kept holed up in his cabin, refusing to speak to anyone
• was talked down from a very severe point by Kieren Walker and his Visitor was finally banished, but Ned hasn't necessarily recovered from the experience and is still struggling with all of the things that led up to him feeling that way in the first place
• as such, he hasn't quite returned to His Norm... He may be seen around town again, but he's no longer wearing all of the parts of his uniform, or keeping such a strict routine. He's been more of "Just Ned" than "Lieutenant Little" these days.... gasp
• making up with folks after his Visitor Drama, notably Kate Marsh and Wynonna Earp
• Kate Marsh has recently had A Confrontation with Cornelius Hickey that freaked Ned out, given it's touched on his worst fears (that she might become a target to Hickey).... so there's some Boatman Drama coming up that will inevitably shape some things
• been learning about some people being "touched by the Supernatural" and developing abilities.... which is worrisome and he'll want to find out more information on that from anyone dealing with them
• also been getting to know his canonmates in new ways, which has been difficult for him and yet nice, too

God thinking about it, Ned is likely going to insist that she stay with him and/or Jopson for awhile after this.... so they can watch over her!!! But if she wouldn't feel comfortable with that, then he might just have to camp out at the Community Center himself while this is going on!
