Unwanted CR: I love negative CR, but in a game with permadeath, I want to make sure it's sustainable negative CR for both characters. Lalo is absolutely the type to kill you and make it look like an accident if you dick him over badly enough, so I want to make sure whatever happens won't result in him trying to kill the other character/the other char trying to kill him, at least for now.
Day to Day: Idk man fucking everywhere? At night, he's usually in his house on the outskirts and typically keeps to himself because he likes having his own time to think, although sometimes he might go wandering at night if it gets the brain juices flowing and he probably slept at the Community Center for the first few days after he got back with Methuselah. During the day he can be found pretty much anywhere. Not a vampire but still never fucking sleeps.
The Story So Far / Plans: He got very injured! He's still healing from it. Then had a bad trip and destroyed Louis's table. Whomp whomp. I'd like to explore what having to rely on others means for him, because he's usually very self-sufficient. At the same time, I'd like to get him more integrated into the wider community at large, since Lalo is the type of person to want to have his grubby-ass fingers in E V E R Y T H I N G.
Oh! I like the idea of him hosting some kind of poker night or something too, if that's something people are interested in! Hmu.

Unwanted CR: Not a huge fan of negative cr for the sake it. But we can always discuss this.
Day to Day: Ruby doesn't live in the community center but she does stop by there a lot to hang out/help out where she can. She can also often be found patrolling the town or out hunting. She generally works herself pretty hard and is bad at taking care of herself day to day.
At the same time she will make an effort to have set up and do something fun to try and take the tension off the darker the things that happen around town.
She is just a teenager putting too much on her shoulders and trying her best.

Ruby's mostly been doing her best to sort of find her niche around town. She is making a solid effort to help out where she can, while also sort of keeping an arms length from getting into her own issues.
The biggest thing at the moment is she is taking Max under her wing to teach how to be a Huntress like she is. So she might look for other people to train with her at some point.
As such she now has an active interest in finding a place where she can do some metal work and make her friend a cool weapon. She'd probably fall into starting to make things to help out around town too if she got the chance.

Notable CR: Edward Little (canonmate), Thomas Jopson (ditto), Francis Crozier (ditto), Cornelius Hickey (canonmate and sworn enemy), Billy Gibson (canonmate and locus of guilt), Kate Marsh (friend/surrogate sister/locus of displaced guilt), Levi Jordan (newly minted assistant), Rorschach (feral cat), Wynonna Earp (patient). Numerous others have approached him for medical help and/or offered him assistance. Anyone who was party to the autopsy will also know him.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

- Care and handling of animals, both domestic and wild.
- A knack for picking up languages.
- Ability to perform medical procedures and autopsies.
- Caveat: he predates germ theory, anaesthesia, and Darwin's On the Origin of the Species. He's a quick study and willing to educate himself and has made a lot of progress in catching up, however.

Day to Day: Most of the time you'll find him at his cabin, where he's available for anyone who needs medical assistance. Sometimes he ventures into town on a scavenging mission. Now that there's hot springs, he also goes there from time to time, but he tries his level best to only go alone.
The Story So Far / Plans: He's found a purpose as the village medic, and he's also discovered a streak of righteous anger and determination to not give in to despair the way he did before. The way he sees it, this is a chance for him to balance the scales on everything he did or didn't do in the Arctic. He still suffers guilt and nightmares, but he has grown less depressive and more outgoing. Having canonmates is a bit of a mixed blessing, and he is still in a state of cold war with Hickey.

I'd also like to avoid anyone outright attempting murder, since she doesn't have the One Power to heal herself from mortal injuries and permadeath would put a real crimp in her style. Additionally, true romantic CR might be tough to swing with her (given the aforementioned ex), but not something I'm ruling out entirely, just more of an impossibility at the present time.
Day to Day: She doesn't make herself as visible as others here, but she does pop up in various places around Milton from time to time — the Community Center, the hot springs, walking to and from the house she's shacking up in, occasionally popping in to visit others when she's extra bored.

She tried to reach out to the Darkwalker for some quality facetime (a real "senpai, notice me" moment), since the suspicion is that this might be her boss the Dark One in disguise, but was rebuffed for her efforts. Anyway, she's biding her time and waiting for the right opportunity to make another attempt, because why not ally yourself with the enormity of some dark presence that brings on immense feelings of death, amirite?

Wanted CR: always more friends! There's a very high possibility some of Hickey's crimes will become known to the general population soon, so anyone of slightly less than stellar morals who would be willing to hear him out when the news drops would be appreciated.
Unwanted CR: No romance! Hickey's husband is here! He is 100% Billysexual at the moment.
Day to Day: Hickey spends most of his mornings and/or afternoon romping around the woods, tromping through the forest, catching small animals and/or fish for dinner. He'll occasionally bring dried meat or canned goods to the community center because he's a GOOD PERSON. Nights are spent cuddling Billy.
The Story So Far / Plans: Hickey's been focused on keeping his head down, keeping himself and his men alive, preparing for the inevitable (we are going to run out of food here and he KNOWS it), and being weird about the Darkwalker/every supernatural occurrance here. There is a very high possibility that he's going to have some of his dirty secrets revealed (he and Kate got into a fight, she ran to tattle to Little and Jopson like a NARC, Jopson is absolutely going to punch him in retaliation) so when that happens, I fully expect people to ask him so many questions based on the secrets.

Hickey does a terrible job of hiding his weirdness about all this, so she'll probably be able to pick up on his "that boy ain't right" vibes. but yessssss I am 100% here for cults.

Residence: 20 Basin Overlook, living alone!
Notable CR: Cornelius Hickey + Eddie Munson (his besties!! his boys!!), Holland March (dad-like figures), Edward Little (the Nanny), Bigby Wolf (fellow 'not quite fully human, uncle-shaped??), Levi Jordan (fellow teen), Ruby Rose + Max Mayfield (younger, sister-shaped teens he's getting feels over). Plus a few more, Kieren's got a fair chunk of CR tbh.
Skills: Perceptive. Artistic. Empathetic. Undead. (I guess it's a skill?)
Aurora Feat: Free Runner. As a zombie, Kieren doesn't eat as food/drink is toxic to him. However, he's able to eat brains (animal or human). With gaining the Free Runner Feat, he's now started feeling hunger for the first time since he was medicated and will now require brains to sustain himself.
Wanted CR: Anything and everything. Friends would be great. Kieren's a sarcastic little shit when he wants to be and is still just a teen, but also just having people to hang with. Anyone who's Not Quite Human would be dope, given Kieren's... whole deal. Kieren's also one of the Modern Kids (he's from 2013) so he's pretty good at explaining modern living, tbh.
Unwanted CR: I prefer not to have negative CR for the sake of it, that being said — people finding out Kieren's a zombie and initially not being okay with it is 100% something I'm down for. I'm also not actively looking for romance. Kieren's not really in the right head-space for it, considering he's not long after losing the love of his life. But it's not completely off the table. It will require a whole lot of slowburn, considering how much baggage Kieren comes with.
Day to Day: Kieren keeps to himself, for the most part. He lives alone and is basically just... trying to keep his head down. He is desperately trying to blend in and not be noticed. He's around Milton doing a lot of menial work like firewood gathering and the like, the cold doesn't bother him all that much due to his inability to feel, but he does notice he does need to take care of himself to make sure he doesn't end up with frostbite. Good thing he wraps up a lot, anyways.
The Story So Far / Plans: Kieren's had a rough time of it so far. In January, he had his own Visitor — which led him to wandering around without his cover up mousse that keeps him looking just like everyone else (alive) and also drinking (bad for zombies) and generally causing a nuisance and not really caring all that much. It's highly likely you might have seen him in passing wandering about town. That whole 'keeping head down and not be noticed' just got blown out of the water, y'all.
In February he's starting to have the repercussions of his condition and having an Aurora Feat come into play. Kieren doesn't eat, as an undead, however his Free Runner trait means he's going to need food to sustain him. The Story So Far / Plans: Kieren's had a rough time of it so far. In January, he had his own Visitor — which led him to wandering around without his cover up mousse that keeps him looking just like everyone else (alive) and also drinking (bad for zombies) and generally causing a nuisance and not really caring all that much. It's highly likely you might have seen him in passing wandering about town. That whole 'keeping head down and not be noticed' just got blown out of the water, y'all.

He's currently building smokers to set up around town, and will probably at some point try his hand at building a kayak.

young folks — Kostya comes with heaping doses of Daddy Issues (having been abandoned by his own father as a child, being terrified to ever be a father himself, and ending up inadvertently abandoning his own 7-year-old son, whom he is now desperate to rescue from an orphanage)... I'd love for him to meet and inevitably get attached to some youngsters, for all the angsty guilty fun feelings. I'm down to explore anything organically, but in the long-term I'd love for him to develop some Dadly Feelings.... (Alternatively, if anyone were to dad him, that would also be a really interesting cr angle!)Unwanted CR:
fellow 'monsters' — Konstantin is regarded as a Hero back where he's from (80's Soviet Russia, literally, he has a medal....) and now deals with themes such as being a fallen hero, being a monster, "if the thing inside me feeds on humans, does that also make me A Cannibal & Murderer", etc.... In Singillatim, he will be keeping it satisfied with the brains/blood of animals, but that in itself will be very difficult for him to grapple with! I'd love to explore his newfound journey of "being a Monster" with other characters who might have experience or angsts with this kind of thing.
misc. things — folks around his own age (39); fellow folks from the 80's; fellow people with Suicide / I Shouldn't Still Be Alive themes; other Parents he could get to know (especially meaningful as he's someone who never identified as A Parent until very recently and doesn't know what to make of such a role); medical people (he comes with an undiscovered alien species, could be fun Talk???); people he can Casually & Innocently Flirt With; people to chat about outer space or science-y things with; he's frequently Sick and Throwing Up Blood, so that could also be worked with; general "exploring the town / searching for information / a way out" shenanigans if anyone wants to join (or catch him); if anyone might want to meet his alien face to face sometime that could be a fun thing (y-yeah he.... hacks it up), although it won't be emerging as often here and would require a good deal of plotting, since he's making a lot of effort to keep it away from anyone; seeing how the alien reacts to his various cr is also always fun, given that it's sensitive to his physiological reactions (if he has positive experiences with someone then it would be more attached to them, if someone upsets him then it'd be aggressive towards them, etc...)
romance — While Kostya can be an enormous flirt, he's not going to be letting it get further than anything surface level / friendly / "safe". He's also married to Vasiliy (platonically.... right? right? it's possible to platonically share a bed, men do it all the time). Currently has no idea that Vasya is crushing extremely hard on him.Day to Day: Kostya sticks pretty close to home, due to his Alien Situation and also a lingering paranoia that he'll be found and recaptured by the scientists & military who were using him as an experiment. He's been dealing with a lot of "Feeling Useless" angsts, but starting up the little grouse farm will help a bit with that.... He can often be found taking walks / jogging in attempt to stay in shape, and exploring the town but trying to stay lowkey about it. He's also been trying to learn about the various people here and where they're from... try to draw some patterns or connections. On Aurora Nights he's often out trying to work with the technology that temporarily functions, and he's been bringing back various pieces of technology such as car, phone, & computer parts to tinker with.... trying to see what he can do with them

• still pretty new to Milton, so he's been trying to adjust.... recovering as best as he can from being brought back from a fatal gunshot wound to the gut, but also dealing with the fact His Worm can't heal him here and that his own condition is Consistently BadAnything Else?:
• having to learn how to feed the parasite himself, which has been a difficult & messy process. Wormy has his own struggles
• in January, Konstantin dealt with the Milton House Memory / rescuing the little boys along with Benton Fraser, an experience that affected him deeply due to his own Son Guilt
• has been bumping into a few other people Feeding on Animals in Violent Ways, like Bigby Wolf and Kieren Walker
• attended the grand opening party for the general store / toplevel here!

Notable CR: A handful of frosty canonmates and much associated drama: Francis Crozier, Thomas Jopson, Harry Goodsir, Cornelius Hickey, William Gibson; a gaggle of young people he's taken to Nannying: Kate Marsh, Kieren Walker, Levi Jordan, Tim Drake(?); he has an unidentifiable companionship(?) slash ongoing team-up situation with Wynonna Earp; he's found some notable Officer Kinship with Bigby Wolf and Benton Fraser; he has high opinions of Milton's Vampires Lestat de Lioncourt and Louis de Pointe du Lac; of course there are the Various Other Edwards (they're going to form a boy band.... not really. But they should)
Skills: Edward is a first lieutenant of the Royal Navy, and so comes with extensive training as a senior & executive officer. He was also a member of the doomed Franklin Expedition, so he's coming into this setting with some years' experience with survival horror out in the frigid Arctic (living in cramped ship quarters, having to ration dwindling supplies, and dealing with various Frozen Landscape Terrors! He also has had some encounters with a Supernatural Spooky Thing.) He also really likes Making Reports, Keeping Up With Stock, and Making Announcements. I have plans for him to learn what a clipboard is and to have his life changed by it

folks to nanny — in his nervous but resilient way.... Edward is not a Paternal Type necessarily, more the "I have responsibility for someone and it's My Job" type, as well as "falling to the role of Reluctant Nanny / Middle Manager because I had to, as the First Lieutenant of a failing expedition". He's been embracing it more these days and actively fussing over / trying to take care of people. This could be for young folks but also anyone, really... He's a good Guard Dog in general (pathetic, but unflinching loyal)Day to Day: The very proper and dedicated Lieutenant Little is coping with finding himself in another Frozen Survival Horror Situation by trying extremely hard to fall back to what he knows best, so he can be found on a daily basis doing patrols around the town and its outskirts in his very Professional Uniform, attempting to keep order. This means he will step in if anything seems Amiss — though if something gets Too Amiss, he might start dissociating, he's totally fine. (He is not totally fine!) But he makes it a habit to try and introduce himself to as many folks as he can, and he's also put up a notice on the message board to spread the word that he's here to assist. He's also often up to busy work to help out around the town in other ways: chopping wood, taking stock of things, assisting at the Community Center regularly, and if anyone ever needs a Guard Dog to accompany them on a trek out into the wilds (or anywhere else) for some reason, he's your guy.
fellow military / law enforcement types — Ned has been trying to keep order and structure in Milton as best as he can, and has already met a few people to help him do that, so I'd love to both continue developing that cr and open my arms to any new! Although as of late, he has been questioning how hard he's been holding onto "Lieutenant Little", so talks about Duty and Whatnot could be really interesting
misc. things — others from around his time (1840s) that he can vibe with; those from modern times to teach him things; those with medical experience (he's pretty much cleared of scurvy by now but comes with some lead poisoning and has been suffering the effects of that, so that's... fun); canon cr drama things (he has a good deal of canonmates here in game now, and I'm wide open to any drama / talks / etc. that could go along with that....!); always open for people to join him on his patrols sometime, he goes all over Milton
The Story So Far / Plans:
• was followed by a Visitor / Shadow Double through January, and that, combined with the tragic death of La'an Noonien-Singh and his own depression already getting worse over time, led him to fall into an extremely dark place; he stopped doing his patrols and kept holed up in his cabin, refusing to speak to anyoneAnything Else?:
• was talked down from a very severe point by Kieren Walker and his Visitor was finally banished, but Ned hasn't necessarily recovered from the experience and is still struggling with all of the things that led up to him feeling that way in the first place
• as such, he hasn't quite returned to His Norm... He may be seen around town again, but he's no longer wearing all of the parts of his uniform, or keeping such a strict routine. He's been more of "Just Ned" than "Lieutenant Little" these days.... gasp
• making up with folks after his Visitor Drama, notably Kate Marsh and Wynonna Earp
• Kate Marsh has recently had A Confrontation with Cornelius Hickey that freaked Ned out, given it's touched on his worst fears (that she might become a target to Hickey).... so there's some Boatman Drama coming up that will inevitably shape some things
• been learning about some people being "touched by the Supernatural" and developing abilities.... which is worrisome and he'll want to find out more information on that from anyone dealing with them
• also been getting to know his canonmates in new ways, which has been difficult for him and yet nice, too
Would love to do more big/little sister type things with Ruby in the coming months! Maybe some exploration? Or she could rope Wynonna in for help with training Max!
