Yo! I'm Kates and I play Cornelius Hickey from The Terror, specifically the AMC television adaptation. It's about the real world Franklin Expedition, which is a naval expedition where a bunch of guys went out on ships to find the Northwest Passage, the ships got frozen in the ice, and everybody ~mysteriously vanished~. In the show, that mysterious vanishing involved people dying via scurvy, lead poisoning, a big ol fuckoff fire, and the tuunbaq, a murderous god bear avatar of the North that's tired of all these Brits ruining things for people. Hickey's on the lower end of the totem pole until he does a bit of murder, starts a mutiny, and engages in a bit of light cannibalism to push himself all the way up to the higher end of the totem pole aka trying to indulge his god delusions aka notice him, tuunbaq.

Super well-rounded guy here.

Please please please for the love of all that is holy, check out Hickey's permissions post. He's a lot! He's the baddie! He ate multiple people! And the last thing that I want to do is spring any of his nonsense on anyone unprompted.

Sometimes dad doesn't love you the captain doesn't recognize your potential so you're forced to murder a dude, desecrate his corpse, and start a mutiny! It happens! That's life!

But yessss I am all for Hickey thinking this is just a weirdly intense child until he realizes it isn't

Sometimes cannibalism's just the right answer!! But have a Brit ready to ruin things for him sometimes maybe. Tho tbh Ghost wouldn't even judge the guy for cannibalism. Sometimes a guy's just gotta do what a guy's gotta do.

god I am super looking forward to exploring more of these two in game, I think we got to see them directly interact like, twice in canon and I'm just thrilled for the opportunity. It'll be fun to see how Edward eventually comes to terms with Captain Dad not being around and how to deal with Hickey / accepting he can't just aim to lock the guy up and so he'll have to! Co-exist with him in this town!

And yessssss two people who's internal monologue is just "but I don't WANT to co-exist, I want to lock him up / do a little stabbing" learning that they've got to just suck it up and deal with each other's existence. hell yeah. Absolutely perfect.
