Hello! I'm Chase and I'm pretty stoked to be hanging out here! I'm bringing in Holland March from The Nice Guys, a movie about some not-so-nice-guys that are hired to find a missing girl in LA. March is from the 70s and he's an absolute hot mess. He chainsmokes, he's a functioning alcoholic, he flirts with any woman that moves, he's the most irresponsible dad in the world and he has half a brain cell on a good day. Naturally the best thing to do is to put him in a survival game like this one.

Yo! I'm Kates and I play Cornelius Hickey from The Terror, specifically the AMC television adaptation. It's about the real world Franklin Expedition, which is a naval expedition where a bunch of guys went out on ships to find the Northwest Passage, the ships got frozen in the ice, and everybody ~mysteriously vanished~. In the show, that mysterious vanishing involved people dying via scurvy, lead poisoning, a big ol fuckoff fire, and the tuunbaq, a murderous god bear avatar of the North that's tired of all these Brits ruining things for people. Hickey's on the lower end of the totem pole until he does a bit of murder, starts a mutiny, and engages in a bit of light cannibalism to push himself all the way up to the higher end of the totem pole aka trying to indulge his god delusions aka notice him, tuunbaq.

Please please please for the love of all that is holy, check out Hickey's permissions post. He's a lot! He's the baddie! He ate multiple people! And the last thing that I want to do is spring any of his nonsense on anyone unprompted.

Hi there! I'm Beth (she/her), and I'm here with Thomas Richardson from the film Apostle (2018). Thomas is a horror movie protagonist from 1905, and his favourite hobbies include shambling, taking too much and then not enough laudanum, anger at God, getting thrown into the meat grinder, beholding the visions, and being a very dedicated older brother.

Thomas is coming in fresh from the end of his canon and is therefore a hot mess physically, mentally, and emotionally. My first goal for him in game is having him not die of infection as a consequence of not knowing what penicillin is. I'm extremely happy to make TDM threads canon, so feel free to assume/let me know if that's also your preference. hello hello i’m bobby and i’ve brought along grace marks from alias grace (both the novel and the netflix adaptation). she’s a servant from the 1850s who was convicted of murdering her employer and his housemaid when she was sixteen, and has been in a penitentiary in canada for the last fifteen years. she’s got a sweet lil irish accent and is completely inscrutable. did she do it? idk. doesn’t matter. what does matter is that she’s here now and she’s not locked up anymore.

I can't believe I'm here introducing a Call of Duty character. I swear I'm just here to babygirl a character dudebros love okay. Annnnyway this is Simon "Ghost" Riley and yeah he really do be wearing that mask 24/7. He's got a nice British voice and is the size of a goddamn tank and can kill you in more ways than a tank could even dream of. He's a lieutenant and keeps himself emotionally distant but tbh he's kind of a softie with the right kind of people. He's been pretty extensively tortured, and now he serves as an excellent stealth killer who specializes in knives and sniping. He has a weird sense of humor and is loyal to those he is bound to. But boi he has abandonment / betrayal trauma like crazy so trust issues are to be expected.

You can check out his permissions here. Canon typical violence mostly includes what you would expect from any Call of Duty game: lots of gun violence, themes of torture, and war.

hey hey, singill folks!! im justine and im here with an oc, max briest, who is kind of a terrible person but not as terrible as you might expect. there's more info in her profile but the basics are: mafia princess grew up in a shitty situation, murdered dear old dad, tried to change the world for the better as a superhero and eventually took to running a criminal empire because doing things the morally acceptable way wasn't working. she's friendly on the surface but deeply dysfunctional and doesn't know how to like, be a real person with real emotions.

Hello! I’m Hannah, bringing you one Eddie Munson from Stranger Things, i.e. Netflix’s only real money maker bc they keep cancelling everything else. He's a D&D-obsessed metalhead from 1986 who's repeated his senior year twice and is kind of the poster child for satanic panic in his small town. He had one really bad week where he was falsely accused of murder, had a whole lot of trauma, gave a really cool concert to no one in an alternate dimension, and died. Whoops. He's a nonconformist who has a soft spot for black sheep and people who don't belong. He can be kind of intense and unapproachable sometimes, but he's cool, really! Just really dramatic. He also has a whole lot of anxiety and at the moment, he's very easy to scare.

Hello everyone! This is your head mod/game creator Cheryl here! I'm super stoked to see you all here and hope you have fun in the game! As for me, I'm bringing in Kieren Walker from BBC zombie drama In The Flesh, along with Kate Marsh from Life is Strange.

Kieren is an undead teenager who was brought back from the dead after recently dying, in a freak event known as The Rising. Whilst The Rising led to utter chaos around the world, things did end up settling down — with medical breakthroughs allowing for the captured dead to be treated and allow them to return to their former selves from their rabid states. Medically treated, these dead (now known as Partially Deceased Syndrome sufferers) were ultimately released back to their families/communities. And everything was fine and nothing bad happened at all. In game, he is frozen by the Aurora meaning he does not require his daily medication to stop him reverting to his rabid state — but he is utterly petrified of being outed/discovered as being a zombie and what that might mean for him. Whilst he doesn't need his medication (something he's still not 100% sure on what's happening with him on that), he is covering up his natural appearance with mousse and contacts (for now, they'll run out eventually). So while he's blending in as much as he can, he doesn't look Quite Right.

Kate is a very normal human from game Life is Strange, which involves time-travel/manipulation fuckery and a whole lot of Problems, and is an absolute sweetheart who only deserves good things. She currently going through a crisis of both personal issues and faith following pre-canon events of being drugged and having a viral video posted of her online, and the fall out of that. She's... not in a very good place mentally, and her canon point is just about at her suicide attempt. She's been kind of shocked out of it by her arrival in game, but she's not doing great fam

Hello folks! I'm Fey, returning to DWRP after a long long time, and bringing you the mighty gaoler from one of the scariest places you will ever visit in FFXIV, the Pandaemonium. Jokes aside, I'm bringing in Erichthonios and, despite being raised in a facility that handles deadly monsters, he's someone who will need to learn a lot of things when it comes to survival and learn them fast. He can't fight, he never set foot outside his facility and the only things he knows about the wilderness come from books. He's a quick learner, at least, and despite a low self esteem he's also someone who will always try his best.

I'd be happy to keep the little I had in the TDM canon, with Erich runninn around an trying to gather stuff in order to have items for whoever may arrive later. He's just... going to need some time (and possibly some mentors) to learn how to survive in the wilds. Supernatural stuff and the wildlife are absolutely going to draw his attention, too, because he spent his entire life studying and researching dangerous monsters.

I'm available on discord at all times, kind of, under the name _erichthonios_ and I'm trying to get access back to my plurk at the moment after not touching it in years. I will probably make a new one, though.

Oh my god sticking my face in my hands in flusteration, thank you for the excellent icons of this compelling wreckage of a guy! And thank you for enjoying my portrayal! I'm still finessing it until I'm 100% confident in it so the feedback is very encouraging.

The TDM thread actually has been great for that, Alias Grace the novel and adaptation are both up there for me as favourites and I'm blown away by how you're depicting her. That's not an easy cadence to get down and I'm just propping my chin in my hands as I try to keep up! (I may or may not have fallen into a Proverbs related research hole. Why did I decide to play an ex-priest. My search history will never recover from this.)

HELLO EVERYONE I'm Thalia and I've brought Clayton Epps, an OC who is a career doctor from a small town in Kentucky, except through some Interesting Circumstances he did a lot of growing up in Michigan where he killed someone and was just recently hired to be a glorified telepathic hub for a bunch of superheroes as well as their field medic. So!! He's had a weird one. Most of that stuff isn't super relevant without his abilities, which he will go as long as possible pretending that they never existed because tbh he's kind of terrified of them. Clayton is generally an aggressively friendly and personable dude, but has a tendency to be very lawful good about specific things and will die on some hills about them (looking at you, corpse looters on the TDM).

I'm happy to keep any TDM threads with Clayton canon if the people involved in them also are! I'm EST and tagging can get kind of waylaid by work/D&D/wife but I also backtag everything forever. I'm in the game discord as manicmuse and on plurk as manicmuse, feel free to friend/add for plotting or rambling or w/e!

Hi! I'm floral (she/they), here with Rei Ayanami from famed 1990's feel-weird anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. Rei is a science experiment, a mecha pilot, an eldritch creature in a human suit, and possibly a person. (She's working on that last one.) Her favorite activities include reading, hanging out by herself in the dark, and making cryptic statements. She's never seen a winter before, and I'm looking forward to her needing to learn how to (a) become part of the community and (b) avoid frostbite.

The most useless wizard from Ancient Fantasy China, Huaisang here will do anything to avoid having a thought. He's pretty sure he's allergic to responsibility. So he'll just leave all the doing of stuff to other people. Can he hide behind you? That'd be great.

He's coming from a difficult time in his canon, when he's just tragically inherited leadership of his family's martial sect (sword wizard nobility ruling over a local province, which is as about as trustworthy a system of government as it sounds, i mean who wouldn't want some sword wizard necromancers in control of life death and bureaucracy), and he's increasingly starting to suspect that his allergy to responsibility is probably a fatal allergy.

Hello, everyone! I'm Jhey and I'm bringing in The Terror's Edward Little, aka the 1st lieutenant of the HMS Terror, one of two ships that disappeared in the Doomed Franklin Expedition™ of 1845. It was an historical event so I am very much cool with any characters who might be aware of it, albeit the AMC adaptation (which I am playing him from, with a few notes from the novel for characterisation) includes some fictionalised supernatural elements!

ANYWAY Nedward here is no stranger to Arctic Survival Horror, coming straight out of being trapped in the ice for the past three years and witnessing a variety pack of Awful Things. He's coped (""coped"") by holding on very fiercely (stubbornly, perhaps delusionally some may say!) to his humanity, Victorian Sensibilities, and job. As the first lieutenant / executive officer / second-in-command, he's pretty high up there in position and is going to attempt to keep order here in this fresh new frozen hellscape (aka falling into The Nanny role as per-usual....) Unfortunately, he's also a sad soggy wet dog of a man who doesn't Handle Situations Like This very well, and is long overdue for a nervous breakdown, probably. But I'm sure Nanny Nedward will be fine!!
