Hello! I'm Chase and I'm pretty stoked to be hanging out here! I'm bringing in Holland March from The Nice Guys, a movie about some not-so-nice-guys that are hired to find a missing girl in LA. March is from the 70s and he's an absolute hot mess. He chainsmokes, he's a functioning alcoholic, he flirts with any woman that moves, he's the most irresponsible dad in the world and he has half a brain cell on a good day. Naturally the best thing to do is to put him in a survival game like this one.

Yo! I'm Kates and I play Cornelius Hickey from The Terror, specifically the AMC television adaptation. It's about the real world Franklin Expedition, which is a naval expedition where a bunch of guys went out on ships to find the Northwest Passage, the ships got frozen in the ice, and everybody ~mysteriously vanished~. In the show, that mysterious vanishing involved people dying via scurvy, lead poisoning, a big ol fuckoff fire, and the tuunbaq, a murderous god bear avatar of the North that's tired of all these Brits ruining things for people. Hickey's on the lower end of the totem pole until he does a bit of murder, starts a mutiny, and engages in a bit of light cannibalism to push himself all the way up to the higher end of the totem pole aka trying to indulge his god delusions aka notice him, tuunbaq.

Hi there! I'm Beth (she/her), and I'm here with Thomas Richardson from the film Apostle (2018). Thomas is a horror movie protagonist from 1905, and his favourite hobbies include shambling, taking too much and then not enough laudanum, anger at God, getting thrown into the meat grinder, beholding the visions, and being a very dedicated older brother.

Thomas is coming in fresh from the end of his canon and is therefore a hot mess physically, mentally, and emotionally. My first goal for him in game is having him not die of infection as a consequence of not knowing what penicillin is. I can't believe I'm here introducing a Call of Duty character. I swear I'm just here to babygirl a character dudebros love okay. Annnnyway this is Simon "Ghost" Riley and yeah he really do be wearing that mask 24/7. He's got a nice British voice and is the size of a goddamn tank and can kill you in more ways than a tank could even dream of. He's a lieutenant and keeps himself emotionally distant but tbh he's kind of a softie with the right kind of people. He's been pretty extensively tortured, and now he serves as an excellent stealth killer who specializes in knives and sniping. He has a weird sense of humor and is loyal to those he is bound to. But boi he has abandonment / betrayal trauma like crazy so trust issues are to be expected.

You can check out his permissions here. Canon typical violence mostly includes what you would expect from any Call of Duty game: lots of gun violence, themes of torture, and war.

Hello! I’m Hannah, bringing you one Eddie Munson from Stranger Things, i.e. Netflix’s only real money maker bc they keep cancelling everything else. He's a D&D-obsessed metalhead from 1986 who's repeated his senior year twice and is kind of the poster child for satanic panic in his small town. He had one really bad week where he was falsely accused of murder, had a whole lot of trauma, gave a really cool concert to no one in an alternate dimension, and died. Whoops. He's a nonconformist who has a soft spot for black sheep and people who don't belong. He can be kind of intense and unapproachable sometimes, but he's cool, really! Just really dramatic. He also has a whole lot of anxiety and at the moment, he's very easy to scare.

Hello everyone! This is your head mod/game creator Cheryl here! I'm super stoked to see you all here and hope you have fun in the game! As for me, I'm bringing in Kieren Walker from BBC zombie drama In The Flesh, along with Kate Marsh from Life is Strange.

Kieren is an undead teenager who was brought back from the dead after recently dying, in a freak event known as The Rising. Whilst The Rising led to utter chaos around the world, things did end up settling down — with medical breakthroughs allowing for the captured dead to be treated and allow them to return to their former selves from their rabid states. Medically treated, these dead (now known as Partially Deceased Syndrome sufferers) were ultimately released back to their families/communities. And everything was fine and nothing bad happened at all. In game, he is frozen by the Aurora meaning he does not require his daily medication to stop him reverting to his rabid state — but he is utterly petrified of being outed/discovered as being a zombie and what that might mean for him. Whilst he doesn't need his medication (something he's still not 100% sure on what's happening with him on that), he is covering up his natural appearance with mousse and contacts (for now, they'll run out eventually). So while he's blending in as much as he can, he doesn't look Quite Right.

Kate is a very normal human from game Life is Strange, which involves time-travel/manipulation fuckery and a whole lot of Problems, and is an absolute sweetheart who only deserves good things. She currently going through a crisis of both personal issues and faith following pre-canon events of being drugged and having a viral video posted of her online, and the fall out of that. She's... not in a very good place mentally, and her canon point is just about at her suicide attempt. She's been kind of shocked out of it by her arrival in game, but she's not doing great fam

Hello folks! I'm Fey, returning to DWRP after a long long time, and bringing you the mighty gaoler from one of the scariest places you will ever visit in FFXIV, the Pandaemonium. Jokes aside, I'm bringing in Erichthonios and, despite being raised in a facility that handles deadly monsters, he's someone who will need to learn a lot of things when it comes to survival and learn them fast. He can't fight, he never set foot outside his facility and the only things he knows about the wilderness come from books. He's a quick learner, at least, and despite a low self esteem he's also someone who will always try his best.

I'd be happy to keep the little I had in the TDM canon, with Erich runninn around an trying to gather stuff in order to have items for whoever may arrive later. He's just... going to need some time (and possibly some mentors) to learn how to survive in the wilds. Supernatural stuff and the wildlife are absolutely going to draw his attention, too, because he spent his entire life studying and researching dangerous monsters.

HELLO EVERYONE I'm Thalia and I've brought Clayton Epps, an OC who is a career doctor from a small town in Kentucky, except through some Interesting Circumstances he did a lot of growing up in Michigan where he killed someone and was just recently hired to be a glorified telepathic hub for a bunch of superheroes as well as their field medic. So!! He's had a weird one. Most of that stuff isn't super relevant without his abilities, which he will go as long as possible pretending that they never existed because tbh he's kind of terrified of them. Clayton is generally an aggressively friendly and personable dude, but has a tendency to be very lawful good about specific things and will die on some hills about them (looking at you, corpse looters on the TDM).

I'm happy to keep any TDM threads with Clayton canon if the people involved in them also are! I'm EST and tagging can get kind of waylaid by work/D&D/wife but I also backtag everything forever. Rei is a science experiment, a mecha pilot, an eldritch creature in a human suit, and possibly a person. (She's working on that last one.) He's coming from a difficult time in his canon, when he's just tragically inherited leadership of his family's martial sect (sword wizard nobility ruling over a local province, which is as about as trustworthy a system of government as it sounds, i mean who wouldn't want some sword wizard necromancers in control of life death and bureaucracy), and he's increasingly starting to suspect that his allergy to responsibility is probably a fatal allergy.

Hello, everyone! I'm Jhey and I'm bringing in The Terror's Edward Little, aka the 1st lieutenant of the HMS Terror, one of two ships that disappeared in the Doomed Franklin Expedition™ of 1845. It was an historical event so I am very much cool with any characters who might be aware of it, albeit the AMC adaptation (which I am playing him from, with a few notes from the novel for characterisation) includes some fictionalised supernatural elements!

ANYWAY Nedward here is no stranger to Arctic Survival Horror, coming straight out of being trapped in the ice for the past three years and witnessing a variety pack of Awful Things. He's coped (""coped"") by holding on very fiercely (stubbornly, perhaps delusionally some may say!) to his humanity, Victorian Sensibilities, and job. As the first lieutenant / executive officer / second-in-command, he's pretty high up there in position and is going to attempt to keep order here in this fresh new frozen hellscape (aka falling into The Nanny role as per-usual....) Unfortunately, he's also a sad soggy wet dog of a man who doesn't Handle Situations Like This very well, and is long overdue for a nervous breakdown, probably. But I'm sure Nanny Nedward will be fine!!

Hello everyone, I'm so happy to be here! :D

I'm Cosmo, I'm a Kiwi, and I'm bringing in Din Djarin from the Mandalorian. He is a sci-fi bounty hunter who never ever takes his helmet off in front of people and collects weapons as a religion. He comes off as extremely aloof, dismissive and stoic, but in reality is a socially awkward dumbass who has is incredibly softhearted. In the process of his bounty hunting he winds up adopting a baby named Grogu, and coming to think of him as his son. I'm taking him specifically from the end of season two, so he's just handed Grogu over to Luke and sadly slumped away in Boba Fett's ship, and is currently in a massive crisis of faith and identity about who he is because he removed his helmet twice. So, that existential crisis is going to be pretty heavy in his themes going forward.

He's going to settle in pretty well here, though, and will probably appoint himself as a town sentinel, keeping watch on the borders. He'll also be putting out traps and snares for game, and will likely wind up feeding people a lot. Din's hugely community-minded, and even though none of the people here are Mandalorians, he'll still come to treat them as family.

I'm going to treating everything I did on the TDM as canon! Also, if you threaded with him: Din would have eventually asked for your character's name, and then when prompted with the same, would have replied only that he's a Mandalorian. He isn't giving out his name any time soon lmao

Hello there! I'm Amy, bringing in one La'an Noonien-Singh from that idyllic vision of the future known as Star Trek, specifically the Strange New Worlds series. La'an serves as Chief of Security aboard the USS Enterprise in 2259 (but she's coming from 2020s Canada, it's complicated), and takes her work very seriously. She can also basically be considered a sci-fi Final Girl after surviving multiple encounters with Star Trek's version of the Xenomorph, and her need to protect others will outweigh her frustration at all these people trapped here who don't have survival skills. Even though she will sigh at them and be tempted to leave them to die in the frozen landscape, she won't. You're welcome.

I didn't to do too much on the TDM because I jumped on a bit late and got busy with pesky real life, but if anyone would like to continue things for canon, I'm game! And I would like to formally request all the things now, please and thank you. I'm on the discord server, and you can add me at taintedcrimson!

Also, since La'an's backstory is full of some potentially difficult things for folks, please have a look at her permissions for full content warnings! She is 100% not a sharer, so it'll be relatively easy for me to avoid mentioning certain things if I have a heads-up.

Edit: Forgot to mention that La'an will not be advertising that she's from far in the future compared to most others. She is fresh off a time-travel adventure where the stakes included the fate of humanity, so she's going to be extremely cautious about anything time-travel related for a while.

Character Basics: Five grew up in a manipulative, abusive home with 6 other siblings, a robot mom, and a(n at his canon point in time unknown-to-be) alien adoptive dad who collected 7 of 43 children who were born Oct 1, 1989 to mothers with no prior signs of pregnancy to build/train them into being an Elite Superhero Team, named: The Umbrella Academy. When he was 13, he got cocky about his powers and while he set out to prove to his father that he was ready for time travel, he ended up landing himself in a post-Apocalyptic future where he found the bodies of his siblings in the rubble. His only companion for 40-someodd years was a mannequin he called Delores.

SO we've got a former child soldier superhero turned time-traveling assassin. Has lived through 4 different apocalypses before he got here, what are your credentials to deal with this bullshit? He's a cranky ol' bastard who runs on sarcasm and caffeine and he'll be even worse if you treat him like a kid (I however welcome people doing so lmao).

CR Potential: Initially, Five's gonna end up focusing on two big things:
1. All the info-gathering of this place they've found themselves in. In his TDM TL he had A Moment™ of trying to focus everyone on this point, so if people wanna use that lil speech of his as a jumping-off point for CR, go for it.
2. Figuring out a way home. This will live in the background of everything he does for the foreseeable future. He stuck it out for over 4 decades before he found a way back home before, no one will deter him from this. lmao

I'm down to clown for any/all kind of CR across every positive/negative spectrum you might want. In fact, I anticipate some folks really not liking him b/c he's kind of an asshole and definitely thinks he's smarter than everyone in the room. Good luck unlocking any of his tragic history, deep-bond CR will be a slow burn so go in knowing that and we're good!

Other Notes: I'm loving all the threads from the TDM (lmk if you wanna keep 'em game-canon!), and I do intend to hit y'all back, life got away from me. If you'd rather let those go in favor of New Things on the coming event, though, no harm/no foul & plz just let me know!

Hello, I'm Cathy! Stoked to be here with Roy Kent from Ted Lasso. He's a south London-born, retired footballer-turned-coach, an uncle and generally grumpy git due to a lot of issues he ought to seek therapy for. Hi, everyone! I'm Anna, and I bring you Dr. Mohinder Suresh, a geneticist from the extremely prestige and currently-relevant television series Heroes. While he is at all times kind of a trainwreck, he's coming from a canon point where he hasn't yet gone fully off the mad-science deep end, which is a good thing for everyone.

He loves to study people with superpowers and weird celestial phenomena that fuck with those superpowers, so he might even have an okay time here, except for all the starving and freezing. The last time he saw this much snow, he was road-tripping through Montana with a serial killer and the snow was still the least comfortable part of the experience. Please help keep this man warm.

He will be incredibly relieved that there are multiple MDs around, because he's so accustomed to being pressed into service as a medic despite his futile NO I'M NOT THAT KIND OF DOCTOR protests, but he'll also be glad to help the doctors out and will be quick to volunteer assistance. Mohinder is generally very eager to make himself useful to others, while simultaneously having about two minutes' worth of patience for any given person before he starts to get snippy. He tries, honestly he does. He's just not someone you want to get snowed into a cabin with.

hello everyone! ellie here, bringing in yennefer of vengerberg from netflix's the witcher. we do not discuss the trashfire that this show is, ok. yennefer is equally a trashfire, in a lot of ways — she's 70-something unaging, unapologetic sorceress with the emotional impulses of a kerosene lighter and the cynicism of an old lady who has Seen Some Shit during her time around the block. there's a heart somewhere beneath all of the cleavage and unerring sarcasm, that she doesn't let most people see; she's just recently learning from some heinous mistakes and making amends for trying to sell her adoptive daughter and mentee to satan for a corn chip and trying to be a decent mother to an all-powerful chosen one, so there's that.

she's been cut off from her powers before so being cut off from them again will be a time, lmao. she's also not much of a team player and generally expects the worst from most people, but i'm looking forward to changing that in this setting! i'm very game for keeping tdm threads canon so let me know if you'd prefer otherwise; also apologies that i'm so slow on that end, because work + overtime has chewed me up and spit me back out, but i'm hoping to hit some of those threads back tonight! i've been massively enjoy them.

I'm Terra and I'm bringing Takashi Shirogane aka "Shiro" from.Voltron: Legendary Defender. For anyone who knows the canon, he's from S1: E1. Basically, he's an astronaut who was abducted by aliens in the midst of a deep space mission. He's spent close to a year as an arena gladiator, forced into death matches. And when he isn't entertaining a mob? He's being experimented on -- see his cybernetic right arm.

Don't be swayed by the mass murder, tho. He's a sweetie... with some hefty PTSD that has not been addressed.

Anyway.

As for me! I'm actually in Kauai right now lol; just finished a kayak backpacking trip on the Napali Coast. So my Internet access continues to be limited until Thursday when I fly home.
