Glad you could be here! We hope you have a great time here in the Quiet Apocalypse. Don't lose too many fingers, this weather bites. Hello! :D And yes, they should definitely cooperate for security reasons! If she ever mentions that she's head of security on her ship he'd likely defer to her expertise, so it'd be fun for them to patrol together :D

She'll be keeping things slightly secret at the start (she's fresh off a time travel adventure and Starfleet has strict temporal protocols), but once she realizes things are Very Weird and Not Okay here, he'll likely be one of the first she tells! They can lament about missing space and the freedom of being on a ship. :( But bonus, she'll never press him about taking off his helmet — respecting other cultures is basically Starfleet Rule #1.

There will definitely be a kind of solidarity between them, being some of the very few people here from the future lmao

They're from two very different kinds of galaxies, though, so Din will be interested in hearing about stuff like Starfleet, mostly because he can't imagine that kind of utopia!

It would be bad enough if they were trapped with only ancient 1990s technology, but they don't even have that much in this frozen hellscape!

La'an will be absolutely horrified by the Empire. It is literally the stuff of nightmares for her. Her time-travel mission was to save the future of humanity and the Federation of Planets, so she understands how fragile society is, plus she's the descendant of a man who would probably find a lot in common with Palpatine.

Oof yeah the Empire is like the worst scenario for people who uphold the values of Starfleet, and in Din's time the galaxy is still very much recovering from it. He'd be baffled that she time traveled, though lmao

To be fair, she's baffled she time traveled. It was very much not intentional! XD Some guy showed up, handed her a device, then died before she could ask questions. And she's being pulled from right when she was supposed to be headed home, so she's ready to flip a table over all of this.

Din will steadfastly refuse to believe it's possible until she inevitably points out that they time-traveled here, at which point he'll reluctantly concede the point but will still be very confused about it existing lmao

Poor Din! He struggled enough with his adopted son knowing weird Jedi magic, and now there's time travel thrown into the mix. The man needs a vacation.

I KNOW, he barely understood Jedi stuff, and now there's time travel and Flares and even more stuff he doesn't understand? Also, there's no advanced medicine?

lmao actually there's another thing for them to bond over: their utter despair at the primitive technology on offer

Oh geez, the lack of advanced medicine while they're all trying not to freeze to death and potentially being constantly injured by things... It's going to be infuriating.

They're basically back to living in the dark ages.

lmaoooo Din's going to be so mad that the medicine here sucks, because he has a real tendency to get thrown about and concussed. He and La'an can also discuss the basic ass guns they've been given. Like, gunpowder?? What is this, ye olde medieval tymes?
